yup, i just don't see anything exceptional in him (also with Caligdong). Id rather have Barsales than Araneta up front. Barsales have better touch, more composure and knows how to time runs to beat offside traps. in short, Barsales have better football IQ than Araneta.
if Barsales would only be younger, he would be miles ahead of Araneta.

Juan Luis Guirado has played left midfield as well as left back in the same level of Spanish football as Angel and can be an alternative to Chieffy. He apparently has a sweet left foot that can provide service from that side of the pitch. Chieffy though as he has shown in that game against Mongolia with that world class goal has a lot more to offer offensively than Juan Luis who rarely scores. Dennis Cagara can also play left midfield as he is left footed. As to who I would choose to replace Ian Araneta. Well Phil Younghusband of course.

I totally agree with cjeagle! Dennis Cagara is the best option to replace Chieffy as left winger Great defender and very decent in attacking, but it really breaks my heart saying that.
I believe Araneta would be better as a sub... as much as i appreciated his recent goal but when you review the Video you can see there was another Azkal at his left very open for a possible easier goal. But surely his goal was very huge!

The problem with Ian is if he is not scoring, he is not contributing. He doesn't know how to use his teammates and provide assists to the open man. He doesn't hold possession very well and has a poor first touch so when they pass him the ball he tends to lose the ball quite easily which frustrates his teammates no end as the play ends with him. He doesn't track back often enough to help on defense either. He has the striker's mentality of going for goal once he receives the ball which would be great if he actually scores, but as you can see it took him 10 or 11 games before he did, which is an unacceptable ratio in a striker and will get you fired in any decent professional league. He might be a consistent scorer in the UFL but as you get better opponents in international games, your time on the ball starts decreasing, the defenders get faster, more physical and play the angles better. And if you can't score, at least contribute to the team in other ways and make yourself useful and I don't see him doing that.

But surely his goal was very huge! You're right bro, Ray Jonsson was really open to his left, it could have been an easier goal for Ray to score but Ian chose otherwise. He decided to shoot instead of pass which was fine because he scored. But if he didn't score that time then it could have initiated a war on Twitter! hahaha

William Espinosa-Gueridon who is an alternate to Ian, but who did not play well in Myanmar, has decided to join Global Smartmatic to prove that he can do better and deserves to be called up again. He asked and was given a release by his 5th division German club. He probably had to take a pay cut. www.pinoyfootball.com/News/2011Mar28Mon225339

LOL LOL curt, i hope you are wrong with palami as abramovich, Abramovich is a spoiled rich russian who's habbit is buying star players without thinking if the player suites the managers system. Neverttheless I'm still true BLUE fan. KTBFFH! Lol I wish Dan is rich as Roman though.
