What's the difference between a "practice game" and a "friendly"? A friendly match is FIFA/AFC sanctioned so it will be a "recorded" match. This means that if a player gets a suspension from that match, it will be enforced in the next match even if their next match is part of a major tournament. I don't think there is a real term as practise match. That was just made up as a loophole (or "palusot") so FIFA/AFC approval is not needed. I think this is the same situation as when the Azkals played against the UFL all-stars, or the German teams back in their training camp.

PH Azkals eye Bahrain, Dubai training camps By Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Football Federation is eyeing Bahrain and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates as possible locations for the Philippine Azkals’ training camp in preparation for the AFC Challenge Cup in March. PFF president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta Friday said that Bahrain has expressed interest to host the national side in its buildup for the eight-nation Challenge Cup in Nepal. Araneta said that the offer from Bahrain includes free accommodations aside from arranging friendly matches for the Azkals. The Azkals also held camp in Bahrain last July and gained a huge following in the oil-rich nation as they toughened up for their World Cup Qualifying second round match against Kuwait. “We could save money if we hold camp in Bahrain,” said Araneta, noting that a camp in Dubai would cost about P2.5 million. Azkals team manager Dan Palami said the planned 10-day camp is scheduled on the second week of February. The Azkals will play Malaysia in a friendly on Feb. 29 at Rizal Memorial Stadium, before flying to Kathmandu for the Challenge Cup, where they will face North Korea, Tajikistan and India. Several members of the national side will be back in action as early as Jan. 7 when the Azkals along with stars of the United Football League battle Spanish fourth division team Internacionale de Madrid in a charity match dubbed “Dili kamo nag-iisa” that will benefit victims of Typhoon Sendong in Mindanao. Meanwhile, Araneta said work on the FIFA project to transform the PhilSports pitch into an all-weather artificial turf will begin in March.
The PFF head, who met with FIFA consultant Marcus Keller recently regarding the project, said the pitch should be ready by June.
“The pitch in Ultra is very important as we won’t have to use the Rizal Memorial Stadium all the time for national team practices,” said Araneta. The Philsports pitch will be used for training by national teams as well as for competitions like, the United Football League, the NCAA and the UAAP. “With an all-weather turf, there won’t be any postponements just because of an unplayable field,” said Araneta. sports.inquirer.net/29831/ph-azkals-eye-bahrain-dubai-training-camps
Free accomodations and a big following if they train in Bahrain and more importantly strong opponents for the NT, now if only they'd broadcast the "training/practice " games it'd be perfect! Its nice to know they're calling "CF Madrid" its proper name now.

Can I just point out that while CF Internacional de Madrid's league "Tercera Division" literally means third division, it is the fourth level of the Spanish football league system.
The real third division in the Spanish system is the Segunda Division B

From www.internacionaldemadrid.com/ (I removed the original Spanish version. This is an English translation that was also found in their website.)
Last December 17, tropical typhoon Sendong swept through the northern part of the Island of Mindanao in the Philippines leaving a trail of death and destruction in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan. In some of the affected areas the material damage has been enormous, the death toll and number of missing people are terrifying with over a thousand people affected by this calamity. An estimated 338,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes and the material damage is huge.
The Spanish 3rd division football team Internacional de Madrid is particularly sympathetic to this type of tragedies, moreso because of the historical and cultural ties between Spain and the Philippines. Because of these circumstances, a special match between the Internacional de Madrid and the Philippine national team Azkals will be held on January 7, 2012 at the Jose Rizal Stadium (Manila, Philippines) to raise funds for the victims of the typhoon. All proceeds from this match will be allocated for all projects aimed at providing health assistance and other forms of aid to the victims.
Gotta love these guys...

networkedblogs.com/s4Uz9Press Release for Jan. 7, 2012 Sendong Charity Match : Azkals vs Inter de Madrid "Dili kamo nag-iisa" Sendong left the nation shocked and grieving, grief like this demands a response and responsibility. As a nation we have a chance to stand as one with the victims and let them know they are not alone, as such a football match is being organized to raise funds for the victims and let them know we care. The match will be between the Azkals and friends v Internacional de Madrid a Spanish league side on Jan. 7th at the Rizal Memorial Stadium and will be called "Dili kamo nag-iisa" a blend of Bisayan and Tagalog showing the strength of unity and purpose that if one of us suffers we stand together and care together and are stronger for it. The havoc that Typhoon Sendong inflicted has left many Filipinos grieving or knowing others whose lives have been tragically impacted, the Philippine football community spans the nation and as it emerged how horrendous the situation was the Philippine Football Federation received word that they also had also suffered casualties, Juni Caaway a referee from Iligan lost his life and Norman Lozano another referee lost four children. Thoughts and prayers are with them and the other victims. Ticket details will be released soon and tickets will be made available for a minimum donation set low enough to encourage all levels of society to attend but high enough that the donation will be meaningful. The organizers are also asking for donations of goods to be taken to the match where LBC will have trucks and staff on site to help sort the donations. Why not get involved, encourage your friends to watch the game with you, organize a viewing party with a suggested minimum donation, ask a local bar to host an event with a percentage of the evenings takings to be donated to the victims, sort through your things and donate what you do not use or need, if we all get involved and share the responsibility we can let those still suffering know that indeed dili kamo nag-iisa. The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) have been chosen as the main beneficiary for the event and the LBC Foundation are working with the organizers to maximize collecting and distributing donations. Selected LBC offices worldwide are open to accept donations: ITEMS NEEDED IN AFFECTED AREAS: We are counting on your support to be able to provide food, non-food items (including kitchen ware, dinner sets, cleaning materials, latrines, medicine, livelihood programs and shelter projects) and our services to the most vulnerable Filipinos in the hardest hit cities and provinces. I do hope after CF Madrid the next should be the true Real Madrid hehe SANA BISITAHIN DIN TAYO NG REAL MADRID!!! With the cost of the LA Galaxy, for sure RM will cost even more. It might effectively price almost everyone except Manny P out of that game! But if you want Real Madrid, Internacional plays with Real Madrids 'C' team or Real Madrid III. They are the reserve team and carry the same logo, etc. They play in the same group as Internacional but more importantly, they are in 1st place and are quite the offensive and defensive force(in the Tercera div group 7 anyway). Best of all, they shouldn't cost as much as the previous LAG game.

Jonny,
I just saw your query with Mike L. I don't think the Azkals can play against Internacional because of this:
"Araneta said the International Football Federation, known by its French acronym FIFA, also notified the PFF any friendly match involving the national team must be approved by the world body at least two months in advance.
"FIFA informed us the two-month notice is a requirement that should be followed if we are to hold any future friendly matches in the country," Araneta said."
Thats why we have to advertise the match as Azkals/UFL All Stars(or whatever) and can't play a full Azkal squad(See my post of a Bong P. article, page 2 reply 33). I don't think its wise to disobey a FIFA rule as these guys hand out suspensions left and right. Is it right? I think if its for a cause like ours, we should be granted a reprieve from the rule but FIFA is its own boss.

I dont think that is correct about approving friendlies two months in advance . Many african friendlies been scheduled just a few days in advance like African friendlies before CAN 2012 finals. Botswana vs Lesotho on Dec 22 was approved after it was played !
Are they going to play with foreigners from UFL ? Let`s see when the squad has been announced

One things for sure, FIFA is its own government, so whatever they say, goes. I hope its a UFL foreign contingent they play with plus some of the NT members! I've got my DVR ready for its first test!
