jonny : "and others like Valmayor is "tired" after UAAP finals" ? TIRED ?? no wonder they are not fysically ready . @wiking : two players out not because of injury but "cramps" . this also the first game, clearly physical unprepared ; probably coach was crying because he did not prepare them enough and is feeling guilty . at least a little improvement: first game was after 70 min, now in the last minutes after a hard fight in the second half . i hope the boys get a bit of a result, if only for their moral state of mind . if i understand the reports there's nothing wrong with their mental attitude, the rest is actually responsability of the coach and, if i am not mistaken, he had more than 2 weeks to prepare them .

Philippines coach reduced to tearsAk Fauzi Salleh BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN Monday, February 27, 2012 ZORAN Djordjevic (pic) was left in tears following the Philippines' 3-1 loss to Laos during last night's Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT) game. Their second loss in as many games their first was the 8-2 thrashing they suffered at the hands of Myanmar on Friday the Philippines' head coach seemed heart broken about the result which leaves the Azkals bottom of Group A. "It's really difficult for us to progress now," said the Serbian at the post-match Press conference at the Balapan Track & Field at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas. "Everything that we planned in this match did not work well. I really feel sorry for my boys, they gave their best in the match. "I have been coaching for 33 years and have coached in many countries before. I've never seen boys with such a big heart ... it was a mistake for me to put them in a very hard competition when they are not ready yet. "I hope the people in the Philippines will continue to support these wonderful young players, they are very talented but we need to get support from the Philippines government to get them good preparation to compete in the future," added Djordjevic, who has only coached the team for the past month. Mathematically though, the Filipinos still have a chance at making the semi-finals if they pick up big wins their next two games and other results go their way. The Philippines face Singapore tomorrow at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas and meet Indonesia on Sunday at the Balapan Track & Field, in Berakas. The Brunei Times www.bt.com.bn/sports-national/2012/02/27/philippines-coach-reduced-tears

@wiking : two players out not because of injury but "cramps" . Yes you are right. I remember in my High School sporting days, "cramps" were the players responsibility. Cramps are a result of lack of hydration and it was up to us to drink and make sure we were properly hydrated before practice and actual games. Someone dropped the ball in regards to this problem. I remain a supporter of our new coach, it is too soon to judge the teams performance at this time.

Agree with you in this wiking.. I think coach Zoran made some good adjustments in the second half of the game against Laos limiting the goals. With better preparation and match fitness, our boys would be contenders.

Lack of preparation has been our problem as of late. Could it be a sign that we need a new manager other than Sir Palami to help rebuild our U21/U23 squad?

Jeremy Theuer , Camcam (injured) and Aaron Altiche in Brunei , but I dont think they can play because they were not in final squad list. Maybe also Munoz also in Brunei.

Yeah, you're probably right. But I think Sir Palami should stick with the senior team. With the growing success of the senior squad, there are probably some groups who would like to help out and manage the juniors squad. Dont get me wrong. It isn't as if we've forgotten about all his contributions to PHI football. We owe a lot to this man. However, there might be some individuals that have the same financial capacity and passion for the sport who would like to help.

He is team manager for U19, U21 , U23 , Azkals , own and play for Global Fc , President for Leyte FA etc...

in the other group... Timor Leste U21 2 - 0 Malaysia U21 Timor Leste has been developing its grassroots program and if you saw during the ASEAN games they had some very good Brazilian players. And personally i thought they would be a tough team to beat..

Don't think of it in the wrong way. I think what most people mean is that Dan should concentrate on one unit and delegate the rest instead of taking care of everything. Perhaps he can be the "manager" of the other U team managers. That way little things won't be missed or "fall through the cracks". Having Greame Mackinnon is a good first step too bad he will be leaving us to go back to Australia(or is he?). Btw, WOW to Timor Leste victory today. Impressive!

Palami really needs assistance when it comes to financing our NTs. He can't do it on his own. Ideally, our NTs in all age groups get together every year especially during school breaks and summer. He is team manager for U19, U21 , U23 , Azkals , own and play for Global Fc , President for Leyte FA etc... Isn't the u19 musangs managed by Charlie Cojuangco?
