My initial thinking leads to me to equate that as To Be ConfirmedSomeone beat me to it. Anyhow, i wonder who will be in the pool for the Dubai training, and if the Euro-based ballers will drop by.

From Jonnys blog: filipinofootball.blogspot.com/2012/01/partizan-belgrade-friendly-cancelled.htmlPartizan Belgrade friendly on Feb 6 is cancelled, apparently Avram Grant, the Jewish coach, is not allowed in Arab territory. From Partizan's website(translated): "...cancellation of training in Dubai, Partizan's management is looking for opponents in the territory of Israel (25 January - 8 February)." Who will the NT play on Feb 6!? Stay tuned.

They really want 4 matches for our NT nice Could UAE clubs or other Middle Eastern clubs can be a replacement for Partizan. Since there are no matches on Feb 6 but clubs have matches on Feb 9 and 10. Fingers crossed na malakas na team ang replacement Too bad since Arab Nations wont give visas to Israeli citizens. Grabe galit talaga nila Israel that's why nacancel ang Partizan vs Azkals too bad.

They are leaving on Feb 5, so only 12 days before leaving.
Here is my probable 23 man squad for the training camp :
Sacapano ,Pascual ,Gier , del Rosario , Gener , Barbaso , Raymark Fernandez ,Jonsson, Carli,Sabio, Juan Luis Aldeguer Guirado ,James Y , Angel , Chieffy , Margarse , Moy ,Simon Greatwich, Misagh , Phil Y , Nate Burkey and Ian Araneta
I dont expect too many fil-foreigners based abroad to join the training camp in Dubai and some players will be home preparing for Brunei U21 tournament ?
I got 2 players left : 1 Gk extra and 1 fil-foreigner based abroad or local players will complete the squad.

JUST FOR FUN:This crew(using Jonny's projected roster) isn't bad at all and comparable to our crew in 2010. Most of these guys have played together for almost 2 years now and the coach will probably use his old stand by 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 for familiarity . I just hope we come into the Challenge Cup in a more defensive posture as opposed to his "bombs away, attack at all cost" tactic. I still favor starting del Rosario at RB instead of Carli as I like his toughness and no nonsense attitude with opponents, admittedly I like Carli to finish the match at RB. At this point I think Sabio is better than Gier. Did anyone notice Robs wider midsection? If you didn't, watch the ICFC replay, he gained weight and looked quite slow, though I still think he is tactically very astute(Knows where to be most of the time). But, Sabio has been playing extremely well, I'd start him at this time. I hope Juani is as good as we think he is. He IS a defender with Racing Lermeno so it's not like we are converting him like we did Oliver P. Angel played very well against ICFC, I hope he continues his improvement and NOT get injured in the coming test matches. I hope Sacapano is ready. We probably will lose all the practice matches in the UAE as all teams are strong, but thats okay as it is training only and in losing our NT might see where they need to improve. I'd like to add, this team is familiar with each other already so I think they might be better than we think they are even without Cagara, Lucena, Mulders etc, but I sure won't complain if these guys are present! ADD: Denis Wolf would've been an upgrade over Nate I think, too bad he has got a season to finish(Germany). I think the coach wouldn't have invited him to the PI if he had no intention of playing him somewhere down the line. He's a starter too with FC Magdeburg so it might be hard to pull him out of there. BTW, will there be televised coverages or streaming? thanks!

Hopefully Either Etheridge or Muller can make it to camp... reading the news about Schrock looks like his out of the Malaysia friendly and Challenge Cup... Sayang naman...
looks like Coach Wiess has given up on having a full line - up or having most of the euro-based players we have coz like he said he will now focused more now on the Philippine based players...

Yes, I do hope NE or Roland could somehow show up at the Malaysia and/or Challenge Cup!
We all base our "Dream Team" on Schrock, Cagara, Mulders and Lucena in that order and rightly so, but if we really look at it, our "locally" based team is light years ahead from even early 2011. With Nate, Sabio, Lexton, Carli, Angel, Gier(though he's left for England a day or so ago), Simon(maybe not for too long) and our U players are starting to show potentials too. Barbaso, R Fernandez are opening peoples eyes, the UFL are producing noticeable players like Ruben Doctora and many others. So, yeah I think the coach should concentrate and TRUST his local based players more.
Though its been hectic with the NT schedules and such, I think we are on the right track. The more NT games we have the more our players get to play together and we can try different lineups too. Heck, I don't care if we play K3, Tercera div teams, maybe someday a Oberliga or Regionalliga team from Germany, maybe Vietnamese, you can see how good those teams are but we also see how much reachable potential we have.
If only we can see these Dubai games on TV...

My thoughts: The lineup jonny's projecting is really much like the 2010 roster of the Long Teng Cup & the Suzuki Cup plus the newbies of 2011 & 2012. I do hope Weiss has learned his lessons (he should be!) and do a more defensive 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, but NOT YET a 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 because we can't have Aly B at the moment (he is sure to be back on the pitch sometime between April and May), Phil does need assistance upfront and we can't have the likes of Lucena, Mulders and Cagara yet. (Er... wait... if the either clubs Cagara had tried out with wouldn't be impressed with his performance and not sign him up, and therefore continues to be free agent until the next transfer window in the mid-year, he could be available for national duty then! Please... call him up before it's too late! ;D ) I am hoping that Weiss would not again do the "attack at all cost" strategy, and replicate the performances the squad have had in the previous club friendlies. Seems we only need more defensive juice with this one, and Juani will be a perfect addition if he performs as advertised. My beef with Anton is his frustration tackles when he's off-position. He seems to be trying-hard being physical with players at central mid which was awful to watch during the game with CFIM and the LA Galaxy. Remember when he tried to tackle Robbie Keane and Mike Magee? De Jong did better than him! I'm getting even more curious with Sabio. Early in his stint with the NT he was an awful player esp. during the Mongolia leg of the Challenge Cup playoffs and the Kuwait leg of the WCQ 2nd round. But he seemed to improve during the LA Galaxy and CFIM friendlies. His performance with Kaya is building up as well. Although, I would still prefer Giero because of his better positioning and he is excellent in organizing his fellows at the back. Yeah, I did notice his wider midsection judging by the latest photos from fans and media, and the broadcast of the Icheon Citizens friendly. Seems injury + daddy duties + the holidays took hold of his fitness. (BTW, he just left for England awhile ago.) :/ I hope Angel doesn't get injured considering injuries have been nagging him since the Singapore friendly. The only thing I want for Sacapaño is to improve his play intelligence, especially penalties! He has to up his depth perception in knowing what side of the net the opponent will kick with. He should " never believe a striker," as told by Mr. Robbie Keane himself. I do predict that they'll either lose or draw Al Ahli and the Australia U-23. The U-23 'Roos is at par with their already dominant senior 'Roos, attacking wise. So I'd be surprised if they won against them. From my research, they'd probably televise the matches locally in the UAE, but I'm not sure of it yet.

Fernandez is with UP as of the moment, so i doubt he will be released. I think I would add Doctora of Stallion. Ott may be a possibility if there is no conflict of schedule with his camp (Ingolstadt II's league matches will resume in March). Pascual is a question mark due to his recent injury. If only Weiss is watching the UFL matches... Just got this interesting tidbit. The Serb coach has actually seen all ten teams (in practice).
