I think we should give some of the senior players a rest before the double friendlies ahead. And besides, the U23 team could use the experience. If it appears that they can't handle the pressure, bring in the seniors, now that we know we can sub half the team. This is easy, the only player from the U23 who hasn't played is Unabia and Fernandez. Both play defense(though I'm sure they are more versatile than that), Fernandez played CB in the ICanServe tourney. BUT, I dont think its a good idea to replace Aly as Captain and leader of the defense just yet. Maybe if we are ahead with a comfortable margin...?

News from the Chinese Taipei FA, my translation:
Long Teng Cup: Hot war versus the Philippines, fans outside the venue gave enthusiastic momentum
2011 Long Teng Cup International Football Tournament, Day 2: On the evening of the National Stadium in Kaohsiung, the Chinese Taipei team held a battle against the Philippines, around the influx of 4379 fans. The audience was sharply divided, and the scene was quite lively.
The Chinese Taipei fans in the left waved the National Flag (note: it's the flag of the Republic of China, Taiwan.), along with drums and shoutouts; Filipino fans were on the right, draped a large area with the Philippine flag, with the singing voice filled in for the Philippine players. After the two games, they arranged in a fan event, in which the fans pay tribute to their team. (note: this was a meet-and-greet event organized by the Filipino community in Kaohsiung at St. Joseph Church on Oct 1.)
Lee Tae-ho on the draw with the Philippines: the performance of players more than 100%
A trip with the 0-0 draw has made with the [European-based players] of Philippines. The Chinese Taipei's Korean coach Lee Taeho said that their soccer players' sound footing was sure, that "the performance of the players has exceeded 100 percent." "The players played better than expected, because with the other side with [European-based] players had a game with Kuwait." (note: it was the 2014 WCQ 2nd Round. CT's biggest loss was to Kuwait in a friendly in 2006, 10-0.) Lee at press conference after the game said: "The player's performance has exceeded 100% or more, with of course, of some regret, the Chinese Taipei team did not have the opportunity to score. " Lee with Chinese Taipei team said that it was in a satisfactory physical show, and has more than 100% in effort. He explained, "the team is mostly from Taipower which just played in the AFC President's Cup (note: they were the champions in this tournament. The PI is set to enter next year after determining the UFL champions), [but] did not do a lot of physical training and had physical shortcomings. Because the two events were very close, they did not prepare." For the player's performance, Lee ranked Chen Boliang as first, then Chiu Yi Huan. The second half goal was disallowed for offside, he pointed out, but because he was not clear to where he stood, did not comment more. For the Chinese Taipei team's defensive problems, Lee said it was hard to find a player with speed, strength and cleverness, but he believed that, if they sustained with long-term training and more competition, they can be stronger on behalf of the team's physicality and understanding. Some combat capability can be improved, and the difficulties on defense will be reduced.
German coach [Hans Michael] Weiss of the Philippine team said he knew the Chinese Taipei team had significant progress recently, [and] the Philippines still have a lot of good players playing for leagues at home and abroad. Most cannot come to play for the two tough three days, [and] it was not easy (note:club commitments) . At the early part of the game, he noted that the players was too conservative, leading to rhythm control by the Chinese Taipei team, in addition, they were always unable to find effective ways to crack the offside trap.

Thanks stellarboy for the article. I keep having to tell myself that this wasn't our best team (in reference to the point above on us against Kuwait) and had this been our WC qualifier team, I think we would have done a lot better. Nevertheless, kudos to Chinese Taipei for their offside trap which was pulled off quite impressively on occasion. I'm slightly disappointed that Weiss couldn't find a proper adjustment to foil that. Future opponents will surely be looking into that Achilles heel of ours.

Yup, nice article stellar. I guess they feel as good as we did when we tied HK. Can't fault them for their use of the Offside trap and their 'fake injuries'. It's all legal until caught. PFF, Mr Dan Palami, how about inviting HK for a nice friendly with Filipino refs(Heck, make it International refs) in Rizal after the Nepal games? You know, just for old times sake...
