Hello UF here's the official press release forwarded to me by the Pasargad folks.
Pasargad FC beefs up roster for upcoming UFL season 4
11 September 2012, Manila, PHI
After finishing a respectable 6th place in its first Division 1 appearance in UFL season 3,
Pasargad FC did not waste time in acquiring top talent for the upcoming football wars. “We did
extensive scouting in and outside the country and managed to secure young and aggressive
talent for our 2013 line-up” says Javier Mantecon, co-owner and manager of the 16-year old
Manila-based club. Mantecon continues saying “these new players will complement the
talented line-up we already have and should help the squad improve its placing”. Extending
their contract to play for Pasargad FC is Masood Ohadi Shadideh, the star-striker from Iran who
scored 10 goals in 8 appearances last year and dazzled the league with international quality
goals. Forming the core are midfielder and fellow Iranian national Futsal player Hamed
Hajimehdi, Filipino-Spanish surprise find, Emil Muncada and Nigerian Charles Ujam at defense.
Both Shadideh and Hamed signed for Pasargad last season bringing with them extensive
football experience from the Middle East. The 28 year old, Teheran-born Shadideh developed
his skills in the Malavan FC Senior team in the Iran Pro League. Hamed, on the other hand,
built his skills playing in Iran for top team Persepolis FC Reds. He later moved to UAE and in
Philadelphia, USA. Before moving to the Philippines, Hamed played semi-pro futsal with the
ToT team in Bangkok, Thailand.
During the offseason, the club managed to sign Filipino-American Josh Kent Boone.
Boone is a midfielder who plays for the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL-Pro League, a Division 3
tournament in the US. Born in Greer, South Carolina to a Filipino mother and American father,
the 19 year old Boone played collegiate soccer with the University of North Carolina Wilmington
Seahawks and the Eastside High School Eagles. Boone was instrumental in leading the team
to the state finals in 2011. Boone also garnered extensive training with SC Cambuur in the Netherlands.

“Josh adds a different flavor to our offense. His speed is a key asset and with him
around, we have plenty of options for our offense” says Esse Sedigh, co-owner and coach for
the club. Boone, who hopes to play in the Azkals one day, tweeted that he was “pumped up for
the season” and is eager to show his wares to the Filipino crowd.
Other acquisitions are Nigerians Emmanuel M’Bata and Promise Jolomi. M’Bata is a
talented striker as seen in the tryouts held by the club these past few weeks. Jolomi, on the
other hand, is a reliable defender “we will need since we lost Mark Anthony Fernandez” adds
Sedigh. Rounding off new additions to the squad are Michael Nelson, a 22 year old Fil-British
talent who played for Nomads FC during the 1st season of the UFL and Pachanga FC goalie
Kenneth Dolloso. Nelson was once captain of the Nomads FC Youth Team until he decided to
pursue university studies in Southampton, England. The London-born Nelson played in the UKs
collegiate football league called the BUCS. Bacolod-native Kenneth Dolloso was the UFL
Division II’s most outstanding goalie. The 26 year-old West Negros University graduate used to
play for Global FC prior to moving to Pachanga FC. Ken also played for the U21 and U20
Philippines National Selection.
“The team is shaping up well and we are happy with the new recruits plus the fact that
we get to retain most of our players from last season’s roster” adds team manager Mantecon.
He concluded saying “we are never satisfied with the 6th place finish and we truly believe with
our new talent, our team’s position this coming league should improve significantly. We
definitely have the material to create excitement and win more matches for our fans”.
Surely, with the revamped line-up for Pasargad FC, things are looking bright for the club
in the upcoming UFL football wars. “We have proven to everyone that our club can compete at
the highest level. We beat Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Stallions FC and we even beat
Loyola-Meralco FC Sparks last season. If we can gain consistency and have a more cohesive
team, I am certain we can continue being so-called giant-slayers next season. We have the ‘never-say-die’ attitude. Exciting na team kami, diba?” concludes the long-time Philippine
resident Sedigh.
