MANILA, Philippines—Andres Crisanto S. Gonzales, a young football coach from the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), recently returned from Germany after a successful participation in the International Coaching Course (B-Licence) in Hennef, Germany.
Juergen Thomas Schrod, First Secretary for Cultural Affairs at the German Embassy in Manila personally handed over the international DFB (Deutsche Fußball-Bund-German Football Association) Coaching Certificate to Gonzales.
Gonzales was the youngest among the 30 football coaches from 25 countries in Asia and Africa, who were invited by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attend a two-week coaching course organized by the DFB at the Sports Center in Hennef, Germany. These courses included an introduction to modern training methods and techniques and visits to training sessions at German clubs, thus providing the participants with a better insight into German sport and club structures.
The international sport promotion of the Federal Foreign Office continues to be a positive impact of Germany’s commitment to develop sports in developing countries and a major contribution to international understanding.
