Lee Earns Spot On Philippine National Team Selected to play for the Malditas Nov. 22, 2012 CHICAGO - Sophomore Monika Lee was selected to the Philippine Women's National Team, otherwise known as the "Malditas", it was announced this week. Lee was invited to train with the Malditas this past week, going through a try-out process to earn a spot on the team. "We're very excited for Monika and know this will be a great opportunity for her," said head coach Barry Bimbi. "She'll be able to learn a lot of different things competing at the national level and playing with several different styles of players." Lee is now included in a pool of players that can be chosen to represent the Philippines at the 2012 LA Vikings Cup held at Cal State University-Fullerton's Titan Stadium from Nov. 23 to Dec. 2. She may also be considered for future selections to represent the Malditas in other FIFA sanctioned events over the next year. Concluding her second season at Loyola, Lee has been a key part of the offense, scoring the game-winner against Western Michigan and helping the Ramblers to 14 wins and a berth in the 2012 Horizon League Tournament. www.loyolaramblers.com/sports/w-soccer/spec-rel/112212aaa.html
