im good with this back 4 combination who manage to contain Bahrain's attacks. Hope their fitness and stamina can withstand up to final whistle. Subs: omphroy/reichelt = JYH
i prefer reichelt over james in the flank...only because reichelt is more of a winger that he takes on defenders 1on1, something james doesn't (or cannot) do.
oh, and oj porteria to sub Phil off in the 80th minute as an impact sub...the kid's got legs!

I have a feeling that James Younghusband won't start, and that wouldn't be such a bad thing. We've had much more cohesion in the past games without the YHs. But since Phil seems to be a better finisher than Wolf, Weiss may start him. Hope we can maintain the team effort tonight!

2 Goals each will be the farthest scoreline for Kuwait and Philippines this time.. I feel a "W" atleast 0-1 or 1-2 for Philippine azkals..

I don't expect another scoreless draw tonight, maybe a 1-1 or 2-2 type of match, I don't expect an outright win for us, and I won't be surprised with a 1-0 or 2-1 type of win for the dehins-goli team . From what I remember, 2 of Kuwait's goals in the 1st match were from defensive lapses, only 1 was "earned" from good buildup play.

My projected starting XI, with a 4-1-3-2 formation. Kuwait is BEATABLE this time. We have improved a lot since 15 months ago when we last faced them at the WCQ. I expect nothing less than a draw, as we can go for the win since we now have striking power, high quality midfield, and a rock-solid backline. I share your optimism about our chances with Kuwait and also likes your 4-1-3-2 formation. Against Bahrain, our backline was indeed rock solid and I see no need for a change in the back four. With Phil and Angel as strikers up front there will be more chances of scoring. Attacking midfielders like James, Chieffy and Mulders could provide added scoring opportunities and danger to Kuwaiti defenders. Projected Subs in order: Marwin Angeles for Lucena @ 45' Riechelt for Mulders @ 45' Omphroy for James YH @60' Bahadoran for Caligdong @70' Wolf for Angel Guirado @80' Porteria for Phil Younghusband @88' ***The strongest lineup ever fielded by the Azkals by far... Minus Shrock still. If Shrock was playing I expect him to start in the place of Lucena, and in the substitution order, Lucena will sub in for Mulders just so Shrock can go further forward, and either of Porteria or Wolf becoming a benchwarmer.

With the excellent Bahrain result why would the Azkals change formation now? They started with 2 defensive mids in Lucena and Marwin they'll most likely do it again.
Leaving only 1 additional defender (one DM) will weaken the defense too much in my opinion plus Kuwait is better than Bahrain in the first place. sure we might score with Phil & Denis together but at what cost?
Remember the second half of the Bahrain match, we barely contained them with two DM's. It's unlikely we can contain Kuwait with a shorthanded defense for a full 90.

......Either way we can't go wrong as long as Weiss can react to changes, rotations and stuff. We are better team now 10 years better than the last time we fought Kuwait (WC 2014 Quali). I am predicting goals here but Draw eventually. I think you're being overly generous here. There has been some improvement, but my criticism of Weiss stands. He could've done so much more with this team. I don't think this team is a whole lot better than the one that faced Kuwait last time. In addition, this is a friendly while the last game was a WCQ. Not comparable. I'm hoping that we score some goals to put a contrast to the Bahrain game. It will be good to have Phil back. Wolf is a threat, and I hope he and the team takes advantage if Kuwait pays too much attention to Phil. Go Azkals.

I would prefer this first eleven
oalkeeper: Roland Müller Defenders: Ray Jonsson, Rob Gier, Juani Guirado, Dennis Cagara Midfielders: Emelio Caligdong, D. Uy, Angel Guirado, Patrick Reichelt Forwards: P. Younghusband, OJ P (for disrupting the back four of the kuwaitis)
well a draw would do....while winning against kuwait will be sweet revenge.

sorry to be pessimistic, but I believe the result would be unfavorable for us. I have noticed the Azkals to be a tad inconsistent, from dominating Singapore 2-0 we then fell to Laos 2-1...plus, I predict that the introduction of new players who were absent in the Peace Cup and Bahrain games (e.g. Guirado, Younghusbands, etc.) will cost us as well.
I predict a 3-0 defeat...but fingers crossed, I hope the team does well and prove me wrong! xx
will be rooting for the boys tonight, let's do this PHILIPPINES!! xxxx you have a very good point there but those guys that you mentioned know each other well. they played together in the AFC Challenge Cup and some of the friendlies. talking about Guirados, Younghusbands, Mulders, etc. and 3-0 defeat would be very disappointing. if they could deafeat the azkals, then it should be lower than 3 talking about our defense. i keep my fingers crossed though but i predict a 2-nil win for the azkals. haha

Filipino Football @filipinofootbal "Weiss disclosed that they would probably start with the same members that started against Bahrain in the first 45 minutes of the game "
they would probably retain the first XI against Bahrain. but i think it would be better for us to let Phil YH start the game
