Revised April 2013.
Rationale: The forum finds it of utmost importance for its’ many discussions to be based on truths and facts rather than rumours and speculations. To earn the community recognition as a premier and a legitimate Philippine football news website and fan community rules need to be in place to ensure the facts we post are indeed real.
At the same time, the privacy of its users is a main concern for any legitimate website. The rules below will also protect the individual privacy of our users.
1) When stating a questionable fact, the poster must state the source of this information in his post. This may be done by including the web URL leading to the article, video, etc. or by mentioning the book, TV show (if not recorded or not posted online), interview, etc. in the thread posted. This is for the staff to verify the source of information and ensure that it is legitimate.
All posts which cannot be proven to be factual will be omitted or modified to comply with this rule.
2) Posts made by users must be in the relevant thread, board and category title. The descriptions for each are posted beneath the heading or if the user is still unsure then he/she is free to clarify with the staff members first.
All irrelevant threads/posts will be either censored or moved to the relevant thread/board.
3) The forum strictly forbids the posting of any offensive or obscene material that may cause discomfort and/or insult other users or an individual/race/stereotype/group outside the forum. We need to maintain a civilized and well-mannered discussion and need to follow such rule. This rule covers photos, videos, articles, posts, etc. or any link or URL that leads to such material.
4) Users must ensure they have the right to post the pictures and videos they are using in their threads/posts. The forum will not be held liable for any copyright claims and/or violations done by our users. The staff has the right to delete or censor any post which contains copyrighted content.
5) The forum wishes to protect the privacy of its users. Any private personal information divulged in posts, whether in text, photo or videos, etc. will be censored and removed by the staff to protect that user’s identity.
This rule covers telephone numbers, credit card numbers, home address, mobile phone numbers, etc. and still applies even if the user concerned has given his/her consent to make their details public. If necessary, details are to be shared in the private message box ONLY.
If the user, through their own free will and decision, chooses to use their real-life photos as their avatar or forum signature the forum nor its staff will not be held liable for any damage, injury or death that results from this.
6) In line with privacy, the forum restricts all users to refer to one another STRICTLY through their chosen display names or usernames and not their real-life given names.
If a user’s actual given name/s are included in their usernames or display names it is at their discretion and the forum will not be held liable for any damage, injury, death caused by it. (remember ‘Smiley’ the movie)
7) Display names can be modified at any time as set by Proboards functionality. It is easy to evade sanctions through this therefore when users change their display names a staff member has the right to question the user regarding this.
This is not deemed illegal nor a violation of the rules, but this rule gives the staff power to investigate any change in a user’s display name.
8) It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that all photos, videos and articles he/she posts on the message boards is either his/her own property or that they have asked permission from the rightful owner of it. If it is a web article posted publicly, the user must reference the URL to the source of the article and credit the author.
9) Display names, forum avatars and forum signatures are required to be non-offensive and non-obscene. Any name, avatar or signature which targets a people, religion, race, user or gives insult or hate to these parties will not be tolerated and will be censored or modified.
10) Any fraudulent activity will not be tolerated. Users claiming to be members of the national teams, another user, etc. even when they are not will be punished accordingly.
In copying and pasting articles from other websites here are a number of guidelines a user needs to follow:
1) An article can be posted on a designated thread if it adds insight/provide further information on the discussion of that said thread.
2) If, however, the article still relates to Philippine football but there is no current active discussion ongoing to which it relates to, the user needs to post this on the News Archive board.
3) All posted resource articles must credit the website/media group it was taken from as well as the writer and the date it was published online and the URL linking it to the original source.
4) All resources need to be verified by a Moderator, to make sure they follow the guidelines.
5) Moderators are required to "verify" all resource articles for authenticity. The websites that the forum deems 'reliable' include but not limited to:
ABS-CBNNEWS.com, philstar.com, inquirer.net, mb.com.ph, businessmirror.com.ph, soccernet.com, goal.com, fifa.com
6) Original content from azkalsfotballteam.com are not allowed to be re-posted on any part of the forum.
7) Content from Usapang Football's Facebook and Twitter pages, especially status messages, are not allowed to be re-posted or mentioned on any part of the forum.
8) Staff members are allowed to move/delete/modify any resource article without informing the poster if deemed appropriate to comply with forum rules and guidelines.
