AUCKLAND, New Zealand (UFNews) - In an interview with Mr. Richard Pacana, UsapangFootball understands that six Air Force Riders players and three assistant coaches failed to make the Taiwan trip.
"They were not given travel authority.", he told us through Facebook.
UF understands that Emelio "Chieffy" Caligdong, Ian Araneta, Yanti Bersales and Raymark Palmes were among those who were left behind. Coach Edwin Cabalida, the head coach of the Air Force Riders, was among the three coaches who had to stay as well.
Pacana added that there is no reason to fear as the squad still has quality players. Such as Filipino-Icelandic professional player Ray Jonsson, who has been playing in Iceland's top league for over twelve years and is now with the squad.
"He's the same size as Chieffy, but he's quicker.", Pacana says of Jonsson.
The arrivals of Rob Gier and Jason de Jong are also expected on the 6th of October.
Meanwhile, when asked about Phil Younghusband's reported ankle injury Mr. Pacana says that he is "doing better now".
