Bad news, we lost the 2nd game so we've got to win the 3rd and last game against the strongest side in our group to have a chance to move on: KRL 2-0 GlobalCebu: Global’s chances of reaching the AFC President’s Cup finals at the first time of asking suffered a major blow on Friday when the Philippines’ champions were defeated 2-0 by Pakistan’s KRL (Khan Research Laboratories) in the penultimate round of Group B matches. Global, the first side from the Philippines to take part in the AFC President Cup, impressed on their continental club debut when they defeated Bhutan’s Yeedzin 5-0 but the UFL (United Football League) champions were given a wake up call on the competitiveness of the tournament for developing nations on Friday when they conceded a goal in each half to lose to KRL and put their hopes of a place in the finals in serious jeopardy. Mehmood Khan put KRL one-up with 12 minutes at the Cebu City Sports Centre played before fellow midfielder Adil sealed the victory in the 77th minute to see the Pakistan champions go level on four points with Group B leaders Dordoi, who defeated Bhutan’s Yeedzin 9-0 in the earlier match at the same venue. Global are in third place and will have to defeat six-time finalists Dordoi to book their place in September’s finals while KRL will be confident of taking all three points against a Yeedzin side that has conceded 14 times when the curtain comes down on Group C on Sunday. www.the-afc.com/en/tournaments/clubs/afc-presidents-cup/25914-krl-global-100513.html

as usual, Wolf is out of form. he was subbed out in as early as 34 minutes by Beloya. and their new Goalkeeper Sanogo is not that good, man i could say Sacapano is better than him. Global rarely create a goal scoring opportunity, ElHabbib would have help the team last night

i saw the replay of the first game.global was over hype coach was over hype the new goal keeper is over hype as well.as striker said el habib would help big time and edsa is much capable on stopping does bombs from the opponent.as i watch the first game global doesnt build there attack from the back they just keep pushing how can they excel on this sport if they cant even build a play from the backline? i think they better put beloya on the starting XI and let wolf sit down wolf old form wont come back.i think his past injury's is bothering him and he cant even connect.this dry spell for wolf isnt pleasable to watch i think beyloa would do a better job for this cup.

The Philippines should take their first experience in official AFC club tournaments as a learning experience. Hopefully this encourages the UFL, which is only a couple of years old to take the appropriate steps to improve the quality of their home based players, including instituting a limit on foreign players and emphasizing player development.

At the post-match press conference, Global coach Brian Reid blamed their newly-acquired Ivorian goalkeeper Moussa Sanogo and his embarassing performance for the loss against Dordoi. Sanogo came in the club through an agent and joined the tryouts during the mid-season window. Reid knew it was a gamble to acquire the keeper and play him throughout the tournament. He didn't mention it but I felt disappointed he had only Ed Sacapaño late in the match. Coach Reid even declared that it will be the last ever match for Sanogo. Really embarassing. Lots of lessons to learn, by the way. As cjeagle have said here, the Philippines are still neophytes in club football, no way they can compete well with established sides as of this time. Let's be patient.

The team that Global FC fielded in this tournament is not the same team that won the UFL league last year, with most of the imports unable to play because of the 2 foreign player restriction. Their coach Brian Reid, also made some questionable decisions, not using one of the domestic goalkeepers, Ed Sacapano, who has already proven himself a capable goalkeeper in the Suzuki Cup, instead relying on a completely unknown recently signed goalkeeper from Africa, who proved to be not up to par. They could have used one of their better and proven import in the midfield or forward, to improve their field play. My guess is Coach Reid ordered his players to attack because they needed to win to advance and paid the price with their leaky defence unable to hold the fort.
Apparently Coach Reid, in a postgame conference blamed the recently signed goalkeeper Ivorian goalkeeper Sanogo, for this debacle. In my opinion, he should have taken responsibility for using him instead of local keeper Sacapano. It was his choice.

Sanogo is a joke. it's my first time to see a keeper who dribbles from his area up until the final third. he made some crucial errors, one of that was the first goal he conceded when he was unable to handle the ball. it should be a goalkeeper routine save, most of the fans were happy when he was replaced by Edsa, but it's too little too late. it was a big mistake by the coaching staff when ElHabbib was left out when Wolf is still out of form and Beloya not creating any chances.

Mehn, why would you use one of your limited foreign player slots on an untested keeper? In a continental competition? Kay Izzo sana yung slot na yun. Or at least kay Yu Hoshide.

yes one of them might help the club. Stallions could also face the same problem next year if they won't change their current squad assuming that they will be our representative next year

Reid's mistakes: excluding izzo in the lineup and not starting sacapano.
