Feel free to post anything about our Goalkeepers!

I think Paolo Pascual is a good keeper and is a likely successor of EdSa when he retires. He was also praised by his Coach Zoran for his efforts in the U-21 Bolkiah Cup.

No disrespect to EdSa, whom, I've really can say is a great keeper, but Paolo Pascual, with his height, and given further training, could be our next top man at the post

my fellow cebuano (P.Pascual) has all the expected trainings he can have, and with all the upcoming exposures he will be having, I hope he will have the oppurtunity to showcase all his skills in playing for the National Team... IMO

I beg to disagree with some posters but IMO Patrick Deyto is head and shoulders above Pascual Pascual in terms of skill. Both are good GK's but Deyto is more composed and has better shot stopping abilities than Pascual. Pascual easily gets rattled in one on one situations and I have seen him make poor GK decisions. During the last SEA games lots of the goals surrendered were due to poor goal keeping of pascual. But he's still young though, and he looks promising. More exposure and I think he'll get better.
Deyto on the other hand was rock solid in GAU's campaign in the last UFL Cup. He did make some poor decisions though but over all he was one of the best GK's in the Cup.
Add Stallions' Wilson Munoz to the mix and we've got a lot of young promising home grown keepers.

Hope someone "versed" enough would create a profile thread for these local GK prospects in the scouting section.
Patrick Deyto Paolo Pascual Wilson Munoz Chris Camcam
just to name a few..

..and Paolo Pascual as well.
Deyto & Muñoz's primary information readily available online are sketchy as far as I'm concerned. I'll try to go deeper when I have time.
Can we make a simple list and discuss the PHI goalkeepers of the past (i.e. before Neil Etheridge et.al. of the modern "Azkals" era) on this thread and evaluate how they were?

Munoz shows some composure during the Cup finals and he's been consistent since last league's matches. but in my opinion, Deyto shows more potential between the posts. he got the height, and as shanks mentioned, is more composed over some goalkeepers in the league. GAU had some problems with it's defense last league but Deyto holds his position solidly. kahit talo sila, hindi kaawa-awa ang allowed goals niya.

most of the goals that GAU conceded last UFL cup were because of poor man-marking and awful defending. you just can't depend on Deyto all the time.
Pascual need to improve his goal kick and decision making. there was a time when he was sent off because he parried the ball when he was already out from the penalty box

napanood ko yan, red carded tuloy si ppascual. re: deyto, yup i do agree. halos defensive lapses ang nakadale last season sa GAU, even in uber offensive team like meralco, deyto still hold his ground. yung mga lapses, if these are leadership issues in deyto's part. re: EDSA, ang maganda kay edsa ay yung ball distribution niya from goal kicks which me think ang problema naman kay etheridge.

Anyways, what for you guys, are your favorite Philippine goalkeeping moments? Those penalty saves were great! and I think all our recent and current GK's were able to save a penalty.

I think muller has yet to save a penalty since i think he was never challenged to a penalty yet.
