Chieffy's defense still sucks... His defense in the LTC and past friendlies is nonexistent. One of Kuwait's goal in Kuwait was a result of his foolish decision to double team the Kuwaiti striker on the right flank. stellarboy, 2nd identity mo daw ako??? I guess that is what I get for supporting you nyahaha! You couldn't possibly be stellar, he and I have had many constructive discussions together. 'Welcome' to the site...

...he is much better than Chieffy Caligdong I would like to know what led you to say this statement? I'm sure we can pull up the amount of caps, goals, assist, career achievements both players have in International games and I'm quite sure one is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the other. I've seen many post that I do not agree with in this site(and everyone is entitled to their opinion), but this has got to be the top in my book. I'm befuddled This is the perfect WTF are you smoking moment... Cant agree more. No disrespect to Pavone, but he is nowhere near chieffy's skills. I saw him play here in Davao against the local team, A High school player can out run him and you are telling us he is a good defender? The guy was slow and over weight. He played LB that time.
I say YES, give the guy a chance and let him play for the Nation team U23, but please dont compare him to Caligdong.

Hi guys! I'm shocked to your comments on my stand on Gino P compared to Chieffy. What I was asserting was actually him being a victim of politicking based on his multi-racial roots, i.e. Italy, the U.S., and the Philippines. I made this point based on his potential not really on his current performance and achievements. Caligdong had a better handling to the massive politicking upon him, together with the senior team, by the previous PFF management. I think Gino wasn't able to handle it, which made him get frustrated playing for the Philippines, as what he said through usascout20. Both of them have their own unique skills, no doubt about it, but let's leave it to the coaching staff about that. I am very sorry for what trouble may caused you so far but I say that I'm very worried about him if he is to let go playing for the Philippine flag. So sad.

stellarboy, 2nd identity mo daw ako??? I guess that is what I get for supporting you nyahaha! Eww... Wiking?! Are you drunk or high or something? Anyway, athrunzala ain't my 2nd identity. Just look at my writing style if you decipher it carefully. And thanks, man, for supporting my statement. ;D Gino is such a talented player and has the potential. Evidence? Five nations are interested to sign him for God's sake! If he were to read this thread, I ask him to stay in the PI and play for the NT. But whatever decision he shall make, we will still support him all the way.

LOL, stellar, I wasn't implying that it was you! I know how you write. As for Gino, you know through out my time here, I've always supported our more "obscure" players, and I really hope he gets whats best for him. The 5 evidence you pointed out though, is a statement from someone we do not know(for all we know its Paul Weiler, just kidding+ I do hope its true for Gino's career sake). Anyhow, I root for the underdog and I'm rooting for Gino P. I hope everything gets corrected and he gets what he deserves. BTW, what are you smoking??!! Just kidding Kenneth

They said Gino would be 23 by Nov 2 making him ineligible for the Under 23. I guess there are just too many aspirants for the national team. How does he compare with the other filipinos from america like Neil Ignacio, Rochlitz, Burkley, and OJ Porteria.?

He has the potential, but it hasn't been used well in the international scene, though.

over-all in dribbling skills, offense and defense pavone is greater than chippy. you saying potential greater than achievement, well how can he achieve something if they won't let him play? duh.
kung sinong wala nang maitutulong sa team katulad ng boy dapang araneta, tanggalin na dapat yan kasi sayang ang slot niya for those better players. wag palaruin kasi sayang ang playing time niya which could have been experience for our new players. tanggalin na ang di maling, sobrang tanda na mapa "pure pinoy" o "fil-foreigner" man ang mga yan. walang padripadrino, walang kumpa-kumpare,walang palakasan.
iba ang dapat ilagay sa wings kasi puro opensa ang nasa isip ni chippy he acts as if he's a striker. importante pa naman trabaho ng winger lalo na pag ipares mo sa katulad ng style ni cagara.

#13 is untouchable! of course there are more skilled players than chieffy, but he gots that aura around him and his appearance alone boosts the team imo!
b2t...i've never heard of this gino guy or see him play. maybe he is a good player and got much potential...but i dont think hes suited for the nt.
only oustanding players with a caliber like schröck, mulders or cagara should be from abroad. those guys rly play in a much higher level and can actually teach the hb players something and improve their skills.

@usascout i saw your message "word for word" posted to Football forums and in Pinoy Exchange. www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php?t=523803&page=112No offense, I'm not impressed with this kid. Let him play or join with those professional leagues abroad that will help him and further enhance his skills. and Let see if he will be chosen to their first team.. If our National Team doesn't give a fuzz about this kid, Then there must be a reason. No need to push him or the management to join the NT. PERIOD. <he is also active with his Facebook account, replying and commenting to AZKALS fan page>

ganito lang yan, tulad kay cagara dati grabe ang hype sa kanya kahit saang pinoy futbol forums. but due to injuries interest waned down. then lalo pa nawalan ng gana karamihan kasi even though he is already able to play no more injuries he still hasn't come to pinas. now that he has come and played, he has proven he's not all hype but got the goods to back up all that hype.
now if this pavone kid that you're hyping is really good, he needs to prove it. only thing he needs now is a chance to prove himself. i hope he gets that chance.

Kahit papaano si Cagara may pruweba nang may kaledad. Nakalaro sa Bundesliga, U-21 ng Denmark, i-Google mo pangalan e may makukuha ka.
Not knocking on Pavone, but if he's THAT good, surely we would've heard from him more apart from some random sources?

usascout,
This is a warning. do not just post comments here. back it up with articles. Stating your opinion is not enough. We have had individuals in the past who have started rumors that later were proved unfounded. They were banned and their posts deleted. As for those of our members who actually took this newcomer for his word, ask for proof first. Just because he drops names from teams all over the world doesn't mean anything. If those were true, why is Gino in the Philippines and not undergoing trial in those countries? I can assure you that any footballer with a sound mind would jump at a chance to undergo trial in those teams he mentioned.
As for the Azkals, he had his chance last year in the Long Teng Cup. If he was really as good as he says he is, he would have dominated in that minor tournament, and the coaching staff would be trying to get him in the team. He did not even get called up for this year's version of the LTC much less in games that actually matter. What does that tell you?
As for being called to the US team, what a bunch of crap? I know the US team, and they will never call up an unknown player without any professional pedigree whatsoever. Only professional players who have proven themselves as starters in the top 2 tiers of their countries will be considered.
And don't even mention Landon Donovan. Comparing an amateur wannabe to the greatest football player that the US has ever produced is a waste of space.

-Pavone is not given his chance to play National team in 2011 in 2010 he told me personally" i came to the philippines last minute i came out of shape... Ok I'll bite. usascout20, did you not read the posts here? We all support Gino P! But if you're a his "agent" or whatever, look above^ , how come you did not know he already played and capped for the senior National Team in 2010 against Macau? Another thing, you quoted him saying he "...came out of shape" how professional is that to come and represent your country, OUT OF SHAPE?? You'd think he has love, pride enough about this and come prepared!? Lastly, I'm always getting a good laugh when I read your post because if you are his "scout" or "agent" or whatever you call yourself. Why, are you not looking for a job for Gino P. instead of trying to get support for him in a darn FORUM??? Here you go, I'll help, call Ascot United(UK) or BFC Preussen Berlin(Germany) they are in need of good defensive players, asap. FIFA scout, "agent", we love Gino Pavone, for his sacrifices, tell him that. But, SERIOUSLY, shouldn't you be hitting the phones trying to find him a JOB, instead of arguing in a forum about how great your client is? Gino Pavone! Bless you bro, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you in the Philippines but we pray there are bigger and better things for you out there!!
