PFF set to move to new HQ in Cavite By Rick Olivares, contributor (philstar.com) | Updated November 3, 2016 - 11:30am MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Football Federation (PFF) President Mariano Araneta bared on Wednesday that the country’s oldest national sports association is looking to relocate to a “real House of Football” in 2017. “Our artificial football pitch in Carmona, Cavite, will be done this November,” shared Araneta, who once donned the national team colors during his playing days in late 1970s. “The new facility will contain a dormitory, an artificial and grass pitch, our educational center, and of course, the corporate offices.” Araneta, who has held office since December 2010 and will stay on board until 2018 added, “A lot of our current activities are held in our present PFF offices with the corresponding field activations held at Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. That is quite a drive. So having our offices and training area in one location will make more sense. It will be farther though for where a lot of our people currently reside. That is the trade-off. But logistically, it will make sense to put everything there.” The PFF moved into its present headquarters in Oranbo, Pasig, in 2007 after holding office at the nearby Philsports Complex for a couple of decade. Thet PFF House of Football was built with huge financial help from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and was inaugurated during the local chapter’s centenary celebration that same year. “Two months ago, we were in Cebu for the FIFA Forward Program and we are one of the first to avail of this,” said Araneta. The world’s governing body for the sport has significantly increased financial support for member associations from US $1.6 every four years to US $5 million per four-year cycle. “However, unlike before where it was given to all member associations, in the interest of transparency and good governance, all associations must submit very detailed plans, reports, and post-event findings,” he added. Araneta also said that the move is also contingent upon the sale of the currently property in Pasig city. “The monies accrued from the sale will also help fund the new facility,” he said. www.philstar.com/sports/2016/11/03/1640077/pff-set-move-new-hq-cavite

www.rappler.com/sports/by-sport/football/181773-pff-inaugurates-new-artificial-football-pitch-in-carmona "This is a great day for those of us who love football," said Philippine Football Federation President Mariano Araneta last Saturday when the pitch of the upcoming National Training Center was formally unveiled in Carmona, Cavite. In attendance were several dignitaries, including Alfonso "King" Reyno Jr. from the Manila Jockey Club, PFF General Secretary Edwin Gastanes, and Carmona mayor Dahlia Loyola. "We thank Manila Jockey Club for their magnificent generosity for making the land available," added Araneta. The football field sits on land belonging to the Manila Jockey Club in Carmona that includes a racetrack just a stone's throw away. The football field is finally ready for play after some delays. The construction of the pitch was first reported by Rappler a year ago. After Saturday's launch two matches were held, a friendly scrimmage between the DLSU and UP Women's teams and an official match of the Ang Liga collegiate preseason tournament between San Beda and Ateneo. The Red Lions prevailed 3-0. IN USE ALREADY. A friendly scrimmage between the DLSU and UP women's football team was held after the launch, while San Beda and Ateneo played for the Ang Liga. Photo by Bob Guerrero/Rappler The pitch uses a surface from ATC Global, a FIFA accredited supplier from the United States. The dimensions of the field are 105m by 68m, the size that the football governing body prefers for its high-level matches. The pitch is nestled inside a very gentle slope, and cut into the incline on two sides are ledges for seating. There are 4 rows along the sideline. According to MJC's Marketing officer Mikki Cardenas, there is room for about 1,000 to 1,200 spectators. Fencing and lighting is planned to be completed by next year. It is believed that this field is one of only 3 105 by 68m synthetic pitches in and around Metro Manila, with the FEU Diliman facility and Rizal Memorial being the other ones. All the other regulation pitches, especially those around running tracks, are smaller but still within the minimum 100 by 64m for elite senior play. It is believed that this pitch increases to 13 the number of synthetic grass pitches in greater Manila. The other pitches are British School, International School, Turf BGC, Kings School, Blue Pitch, Sparta, Biñan Football Stadium, DLSU Canlubang, Rizal Memorial, FEU, Claret, McKinley Hill, and the Valdes family pitch in San Juan. There is a simple modular locker room beside the pitch for player, with plans for expansion. Could the Carmona facility host a PFL club? "Why not?" Said Gastanes last Saturday. There would have to be extensive improvements made before that would happen. AFC Club Licensing regulations require a minimum strength for the lights, a certain number of numbered seats, and such accoutrements as a media room. Meanwhile the pitch will be utilized by the Youth Football League as early as next week for its games. But the pitch is only part of the plans to make the training center a footballing hot spot. Two other small-sided pitches will be made beside the artificial one. And within the racetrack two full-size grass pitches will be readied. There already is football being played within the racetrack but according to Eduardo Ramirez De Arellano, marketing VP of MJC, the surface there will be completely redone starting October with new drainage and base underneath. MJC officials say they will study the best practices of other top grass fields in the Philippines in order to maintain their fields well. One of these grass pitches will be funded by PFF and the other by MJC. De Arellano says the work must be completed by March in time for the Manila 10s rugby tournament. Having one artificial field and another grass one will be ideal for the PFF. It can help its national teams prepare for whatever surface they will be playing in. Last Saturday ground was also broken for the construction of the PFF's new headquarters, which will replace the House Of Football in Pasig. The four-storey structure will occupy a strip of land beside the road that leads from the racetrack to the artificial field. There will also be a dormitory for teams who wish to stay at the center for training camps.

bobguerreroph.wordpress.com/2018/06/28/u19-national-team-prepares-for-tough-aff-tournament/The team has been practicing in the PFF Artificial Turf Pitch in Carmona, Cavite within the San Lazaro Leisure Park. The pitch is part of the PFF National Training Center which is planned to include more pitches, dorms, classrooms for coaching and refereeing courses, and a stadium. “We are lucky to have this pitch to train on,” says Dorlas. The assistant marveled at the quality of the turf, especially the drainage underneath. “In mid-June it was raining so hard for a few days but we kept on training and we didn’t miss a single session,” says the coach. The team trains twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon. The team are billeted in a nearby hotel five minutes from the facility. “It’s great having a camp here because there are no distractions. After training they go back to the hotel. You can really monitor them,” continues the coach. “We are so proud to help the team in their quest for glory,” says Manila Jockey Club VP for Marketing, Eduardo Ramirez de Arellano. MJC manages the pitch for the PFF. “We are delighted that the U19s really appreciate our world-class pitch. It’s great that MJC and SLLP can really contribute to the advancement of our youth national teams,” continued de Arellano. The PFF Artificial Turf Pitch in Carmona measures 105 meters long and 68 meters wide, the preferred dimensions for elite play. The surface has passed the FIFA Quality Pro standard, formerly known as FIFA 2 star. Recently hundreds of new seats were installed around the field, making it an even better venue for spectators. Soon light towers will be installed, permitting nighttime play. While the PFF Artificial Turf Pitch is designed to be used by Philippine national teams and other elite club squads, anyone can rent the field for football, frisbee, or rugby. PFF Artificial Turf Pitch in Carmona set to acquire lights August 22, 2018 One of the Philippines’ finest synthetic football fields will be allowing nighttime play very soon. The PFF Artificial Turf Pitch in San Lazaro Leisure Park will soon have lighting towers installed, with help from the Asian Football Confederation. The first step was taken last August 17 when Phoon Yoke Heng, an infrastructure consultant from the AFC, made an ocular inspection of the facility in Carmona, Cavite. Mr. Phoon made detailed observations of the pitch and assessed the sites of the four lighting towers on each corner of the field. The Malaysian is no stranger to the Philippines, having previously worked on two other FIFA-funded projects in the country, in Bukidnon and Iloilo. “It seems like everything is in order,’ said Mr. Phoon about the facility and its capability to have lights. It is intended to have lighting with at least 800 lux of intensity, the minimum for broadcasts. However the towers are planned to be sturdy enough to support enough lights for 1200 lux. Mr. Phoon will submit a report to AFC that should get the ball rolling for the project to begin. Mr. Phoon says it should take about 2 to 3 months for this project once ground is broken. The field, which was constructed under the capable leadership of PFF President Mariano V. Araneta, is currently being used for national teams training, pro matches, and other football events. It is part of the planned PFF National Training Center in San Lazaro that will include additional fields, dorms, classrooms, and possibly a stadium. “We are very excited about these upcoming lights in the field,” says Manila Jockey Club VP for Marketing, Eduardo Ramirez de Arellano. “We know that allowing football to be played at night means more opportunities for our players to hone their skills.” Manila Jockey Club owns and administers the San Lazaro Leisure Park where the field is situated. The PFF Artificial Pitch has been the venue for training sessions for Philippine youth national teams and for the ladies senior national team. It has also hosted games of the Philippines Football League, the nation’s professional league. Soon two competitions will take place there: the PFF Women’s League and the University Alumni Football League. bobguerreroph.wordpress.com/2018/08/22/pff-artificial-turf-pitch-in-carmona-set-to-acquire-lights/

They are finally breaking ground on the PFF HQ in Cavite next to the football pitches they built there. Acc. to an interview given by PFF President Araneta back in 2020, the six-story headquarters will include dormitories, offices, seminar rooms and conference hall, cafeteria, and a clinic and was pegged at a US $5.9 million budget; the entire funding coursed through Fifa.

PFF breaks ground for new five-story office in Cavite The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) on Saturday broke ground on the site where a modern and larger headquarters is going to be built outside of Metro Manila. PFF president Nonong Araneta led a groundbreaking ceremony held here where a five-story building will rise through funding from world governing body Fifa and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). To be constructed in 4,231 square meters of land, the new headquarters will replace PFF’s current but smaller two-floor office located in Pasig City. Araneta said having a larger facility was made with the need for a more spacious workplace. “Our current headquarters in Pasig is not very conducive and the organization is growing and expanding so we needed a new place,” Araneta told reporters after the second half of the event at the nearby PFF National Training Centre. The new building is expected to be finished by the latter part of 2023, with dormitories for players and coaches to be constructed immediately after. Araneta said the PFF was granted $800,000 (P44.28 million) by the AFC to purchase the land located along Sugar Road, with design and construction costs amounting to $2 million (P110 million) coming from Fifa’s Forward Program. “I am particularly happy to note that you have worked so closely with Fifa to reach the point you arrive at today,” said Fifa president Gianni Infantino in a video message aired during the ceremony. “And this is exactly the aim of the Fifa Forward Program: to provide tailor-made support to all 211 Member Associations, with more investment, more impact and more oversight,” he added. The groundbreaking came two weeks after the Philippines ruled the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Championship, beating Thailand, 3-0, before 8,257 fans at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. “It’s significant because we won the AFF Women’s Championship and now football is going to have its new headquarters. So these are all tied up together for our football development, to really promote football in the country,” Araneta said. sports.inquirer.net/471770/pff-breaks-ground-for-new-five-story-office-in-caviteI would have preferred if they first built the dorms, gyms and training facilities for the players and coaches first but sports administration officials tend to get priority in this kind of decisions just like it was when they built the swanky HQ in Pasig back in 2009 also built with FIFA funds the only sports HQ in the country at that time outside of a government building. Nevertheless we are grateful that Pres Araneta is both a high ranking FIFA and AFC official helping us obtain the funds to build this infrastructures built specifically for football.
