www.watchmendaily.com/sports/ceres-fc-ready-presidents-cup-suits-sacapano-guirado/With less than two weeks before this year’s Asean Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup kicks off on May 6-10 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City, the Ceres-La Salle FC is in tough preparation as it faces the best squads in the tournament. s2 Philippines’ Ceres-La Salle FC showing force in yesterday’s AFC President’s Cup press conference. (Mymy Alagaban Photo) The Ceres-La Salle FC, representing the Philippines, is in Group B along with some of the strongest teams in the tournament, namely: FC HTTU of Turkmenistan, Tatung Company of Chinese Taipei and the Rimyongsu Club of the People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). In a press conference held yesterday in Bacolod, Ceres FC head coach Ali Bernard Go said they are working hard in their training sessions as well as in scrimmages to condition the players for this tournament. “We have to be well-prepared for the tournament. We are in a tough group with World Cup caliber North Korean side and the defending champion Turkmenistan,” he said. Meanwhile, when asked how they find the North Korean squad, Ceres FC Korean technical director Cha Soung Yooung said the team plays similar as those clubs playing in the South Korean Super League. “We don’t have any problem going up against the North. The boys are ready and excited,” Yooung added. Go also presented the Ceres FC pool consisting of 30 players which include: Koreans Yong Chan Son, Jinho Kim, Kyumson Cho, Hyeon Gwon, Geun Hyeong Park, and Sangmin Kim; Kevin Capolei, Younesse Yaogo, Samson Olaniyi, Casas, Michael, Camelo Tacusalme, Jayson Panhay, Jason Cordova, Arnie Pasinabo Jr., J Baguioro, Hanesin Prince Antony, Lemuel Unabia, Tom Booth, Olapido Okunaiya, Jalsor Soriano, William Gueridonn, Joshua Beloya, Angelo Marasigan, Carlito de Murga, Patrick Reichelt, Angeles twins Marwin and Marvin, newcomer Jason Sabio, and loaned players defender Juani Guirado and keeper Eduard Sacapaño. Sabio, a new member of the club, said that one has to work hard for the spot. “But with my experience playing against Turkmenistan and Chinese Taipei, I think I can be a big help to the team. Our goal here is to win,” said the Fil-Am central defender. On the part of Bago City native and Azkals’ veteran keeper Sacapaño, he’s happy to play again for Negros. “It’s my pride to play for my hometown. And with my experience, I can help the team. This is a team effort. Whatever we can contribute is vital for the team. All we have to do here is to share our knowledge and experience to achieve our goal,” he said. APPEAL FOR SUPPORT Meanwhile, Local Organizing Committee (LOC) chairman Nicolas Golez again appealed to Bacolodnons and Negrenses to show their support to this tournament, as well as to the Ceres-La Salle FC. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to display our patriotism as Ceres-La Salle FC will not only represent Bacolod and the province, but the Philippines,” he added. Golez also said the LOC is working double time to ensure that Negros Occidental’s Panaad Park and Stadium will not only be ready for the tournament, but would meet the requirements set by the AFC. Aside from a huge facelift of main stadium’s facilities, the LOC also focused on keeping its football pitch green in time for the tournament on May 6-10. “As of this time, we are trying to rehabilitate Panaad’s pitch. We know that during summer, grasses turn brown, thus we fertilize them to remain green. Also, we planted some grass in the goal’s mouth to make it green as well,” he said. “We are also maintaining our practice venues at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos and the Ceres-La Salle FC Mandalagan field,” he added. “We have also installed hundreds of mounted seats for VIPs at the main stadium, which is also among the AFC requirements for hosting the event,” Golez disclosed. Further, the LOC has also constructed two more dressing rooms with showers at the Panaad Stadium because the facility only has two. “The AFC requires that the stadium should have at least four,” he said. “We want to show the AFC that we are capable of hosting big international competitions,” he stressed./WDJ

Ten imports are currently listed; only two are allowed in the competition. So the locals are essentially assured of making the final 23 since it's the foreigners that need to be whittled down to meet the numbers.

Ceres FC will be playing AFC President's Cup matches on May 6, 8 and 10 , and if some Azkals players are playing for Ceres Fc it will difficult for them to get in the final squad for AFC Challenge Cup because they will be missing half of the Bahrain camp and a scheduled friendly on May 11.
I dont understand why Juani Guirado has signed for Ceres ?
