Hey all, Anyone out there who can give some extra information on football in Cebu? Maybe any teams out there that are looking for players? I've been reading cebufootball.blogspot.com/ and www.aboitizfootballcup.com/AFC/index.php so I know there are teams and leagues here, but I'd like to find something more concrete, like an actual team that is looking for players or some people who are involved in football here. I really miss playing football, so it'd be very appreciated if anyone out there could help me out.

THE premier football tournament in Cebu City just gets bigger and better every year with the 17th Aboitiz Football Cup attracting 194 teams and clubs. The number is 40 teams more than last year’s edition. The tournament has a total of 15 divisions – Under-7 Mix, Under-9 Mix, Under-11 Mix, Boys Under-13, Girls Under-15, Boys Under-15, Girls Under-18, Boys Under-18, Men’s Under-23, Ladies Open, Men’s Open, 38-and-Above, Inter-BPO Men’s, Inter-BPO Ladies and Inter-Company. The bulk of teams in the tournament are in the Under-11 Mix and Boys Under-13 divisions with 23 teams each. The Under-9 Mix has 20, while the Boys Under-18 age group has 19. The most prestigious Men’s Open division has 16 teams, in which defending champions Erco will be back to defend their title. www.sunstar.com.ph/cebu/sports/2015/01/21/bigger-aboitiz-cup-387891

Is there football lessons in Cebu?. I really like to learn the sport. I'm not looking to be a professional or something, I just like a weekend type of football. Where people can meet each other, play football and have fun. If anyone out there in Cebu who is willing to organize a weekend type football. Please P.M. me I'll be glad to join.

I want to join, but considering my age (23) it does not good to look at. Plus, if I had join I might cause some injuries to those kids. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Try watching a football festival that includes men's open division. You will see most of the teams there. One is coming this Feb. for the thirsty cup 2016.

Is football now the main sport in Cebu behind basketball?
