Cesar, perhaps best known for his decision to ban Rufo Sanchez from the UFL about this time last year, this week lost his battle with cancer. Cesar will be long known for his tireless efforts on behalf of alumni and sports programs for the Lasalle family of schools here in Manila. I personally will miss Cesar, as he was one of the most important people who encouraged my boys to play football at Lasalle Greenhills. I remember when my boys were just 5 and 6, we would always get calls and texts from Cesar encouraging our boys to be enthusiastic and join the team at practices and tournaments. Thanks for all you have done Cesar, rest in peace.

My sincere condolences. You were an inspiration to Philippine football.

My condolences as well. He sounds like one of the old Filipino Spaniards who loved football and kept it alive while most Filipinos lost interest in the game. Viva Senor de Larrazabal. Hope you approve as Philippine football finally emerges from the shadows from your bleachers in the sky.
