As discussed by the AFC, the distribution of Champions League and AFC Cup spots will be determined by a ranking. This will be made up using both club results(70%) in the last 4 editions and international(30%) rankings. AFC released the rankings dated Nov. 3 www.the-afc.com/uploads/afc/files/rankings/afc_ma_rankings_03_11_2014.pdfThe folks at bigsoccer has listed a table for Member Ranking similar to the above AFC list based on the October FIFA rankings which is also the basis of the AFC list: In the final rankings, competition spots will be distributed via: - 1-24 (red) will receive ACL slots (direct group stage slots will be determined via assessment criteria). - 25-32 (yellow) will receive direct AFC Cup slots. - 33-47 (purple) will receive AFC Cup play-offs slots. If the above criteria will be adopted, which is likely since the AFC has posted the above MA rankings list, the Philippines at 27 will receive theoretically direct AFC Cup slots and just barely missed at 24 an ACL slot(where our neighbors Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar will be competing). Unfortunately since the President's Cup results were not considered we have 0 points under the club rankings.

Well the 2015 AFC Club Cup format has been approved by the AFC Executive Committee recently, and apparently many member associations from the emerging nations category in the West Zone, have opted not to join the competition this year. This include Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bhutan. Their slots were apparently given to other member associations in the West Zone for qualifying playoff purposes.
The Philippines is assured of one place in the Group stage by virtue of being ranked 25-32 in the rankings listed above. Our representative this year, Ceres FC, will start competing Feb. 25 and the draw for their group will be held on Dec. 11, 2014, although they will not know all their opponents in the groups until the Qualifying playoff stage will be competed around February 17.
The draw for the group stage will be held on 11 December 2014. The 32 teams are drawn into eight groups of four. Teams from the same association cannot be drawn into the same group. Each group is played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. The winners and runners-up of each group advance to the round of 16.
Rules for Tiebreakers in the Group Stage:
The teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss). If tied on points, tiebreakers are applied in the following order:
1.Greater number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned; 2.Goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned; 3.Greater number of goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned; 4.Greater number of away goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned; 5.If, after applying criteria 1 to 4, teams still have an equal ranking, criteria 1 to 4 are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 6 to 10 apply; 6.Goal difference in all the group matches; 7.Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches; 8.Penalty shoot-out if only two teams are involved and they are both on the field of play; 9.Fewer score calculated according to the number of yellow and red cards received in the group matches (1 point for a single yellow card, 3 points for a red card as a consequence of two yellow cards, 3 points for a direct red card, 4 points for a yellow card followed by a direct red card); 10.Team who belongs to the member association with the higher AFC ranking.

I have questions. Why is Ceres representing the Philippines? Is this because they won the 2013 PFF National Championship? Or is it for winning the recent UFL League Cup?
But if it is for winning the 2013 PFF Nationals, they why not wait for the currently ongoing PFF Nationals?

Indeed the representative for the Philippines comes from the ongoing 2014 PFF Smart National Club Championship, which hasn't been determined yet. I was looking at last year's winner and not this years when I prematurely declared Ceres as our rep. The Winner will have an automatic spot in the group stage and the runner up will probably have a spot in the qualifying stage of the AFC Cup.

I guess winner (Ceres) and runner-up (Global) of 2013 PFF National finals will represent Philippines.
