Posts from the cedelf:
With Bahrain beating Yemen, 3-0, in Manama, Azkals fall to 4th in Group H still with 7 pts. Bahrain climb to 3rd w 10 pts.
Azkals need to beat North Korea and hope that Bahrain loses big to Uzbekistan on Tuesday to overhaul goal difference and take 3rd spot.
The Azkals can still make 3rd rd of Asian Cup qualifiers outright if they finish as one of four best fourth placers from among eight groups.

I like their chances of making it to the Asian Cup as one of the best 4th finisher. They have 7 points right now and have better goal diff than most of team. God forbid they lost to NoKor by 8 goals in which Guam beats them in goal differencial is the only way they wont make it. Tajiks have 7 with 1 game left against Kryg Afghan have 6 with 1 game left to play against Singa Myanmar have 7 with 1 game left to against Leb Phil have 7 with 1 game left against NoKor Guam have 7 points no more game -13 goal diff Out these group of 5 that Phil have the best goal diff at -5. It will be a surprise if they leave pyongyang 8 goals behind. Mission accomplished today.

I think regardless even if we dont qualify outright for the asian cup, we'll still have a formidable and experience team than can get the job done against any team. By then we'll have Nazari, a fit PYH, Palla and Schrock, Ott and Misagh. Against Afghanistan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan I mean we did well against team stronger than this 3. So im still confident that our team can win the playoff round.

Either way, considering how much ahead in goal differential the Philippines has compared to the other 4th placed teams as seen in the chart I posted above, they pretty much made it to the 3rd round of the AFC qualifiers already, even if they don't get 3rd place.

Going through the 3rd round might be more benificial for the Azkals as they will play more games eventhough lesser teams. This also give us more games to look forward to.

More games means more time and opportunity for the New Azkals players such as Nazari to gel with the team. Besides, this stacked up Azkals team Can play and win against any team outside the top tier team in Asia (Japan, Korea etc). Still an exciting years for Philippine football.

Source : Wikipedia With our current status, we are assured of a spot in the 3rd round of the Asian Cup, with or without winning the last game. With what Cedelf and other football reporters were saying parang the last game is a do or die scenario. Baka lang kasi mapressure masyado azkals eh mawala focus. Although siyempre maganda pa rin talaga yung manalo sa Martes.

It is always better to do well when playing at home, especially since we are still trying to gain fans and market the game to the Philippine public, so putting pressure on the team to do well is okay by me. The higher up the standings we are especially in such a difficult group, the more respect we get.
