BTW guys...im a native Bacolodnon... There are many choices of accomodation here... So no need to worry about your stay.
And most of the hotels are scattered in the city center and Panaad stadium is just a taxi away or a journey on a jeepney..
We have Business Inn, Westown Hotel, Kundutel, Casino Filipino Hotel, L'Fisher, Sylvia manor, Bacolod Pavillion Hotel among others..
Hope we can watch the game since Panaad can accomodate 20,000 spectators only....

I got this from a very reliable source.. The Bacolod venue is not definite for the Feb. 9 game. There are talks about moving the Philippines vs. Mongolia game to Rizal Stadium in Manila? I guess it's for the benefit of the players? So yeah.. that would be pretty convenient for the most of us.. I'll let you guys know soon.. =)

So people should not make plans for Bacolod yet? Can Manila fill-up the stadium? That what Im worried about. I know there are a lot of futbol fans in Manila, Im sure it more than 20,000 of them. But not all of them mite have the time to go to the game, traffic and hectic skeds mite lower down attendance.

we're hoping that the definite date as well as the venue be disseminated on or before mid of January. so we could have an ample time to prepare.

There are currently excavation equiptments on the field at Rizal Memorial Stadium doing some kind of renovation, I think this is a good sign in preparation for the Feb. 9th game againts Mongolia to be held here where it can hold about 30,000 fans...

As far as the budget is concerned. The price of accommodation in Bacolod ranges so it depends in what style you want to be when you are there. I generally stay at the Business Inn as its location to Bacolod downtown is very convenient. Food is exactly the same as the accomm. You can EAT IN SOME SWANKY RESTAURANTS THERE OR GO DOWN TO THE BAR B Q PLACE NEAR THE CHURCH AND HAVE A REASONABLE PRICED GOOD MEAL THERE.TAXI FARES TO PANA-AD ARE ROUGHLY GOING TO BE THE SAME FROM ANYWHERE YOU STAY. So how much it is going to cost is dependent on your style of living. Ticket costs wont come out until maybe a week before the game so dont worry too much about that. It wont be anything like watching ringside a Manny Pacqiuiao fight in Vegas. We should make a meeting point so that we can all get together like we did at the Draft Bar in 2005 for the SEA Games. Especially those of us who will be in Bacolod on Feb 8. A meet and greet on Feb 8 would set the atmosphere for a BARKING good time in Bacolod.

This may help you with regards to all that you asked. . . . . . . . . The message I received last night is. . . . hi Graeme,
to be honest, up to now, everything is still unofficial... Panaad of course has the best chance of hosting the "home" game, but until it is officially announced (most probably immediately after the AFC Congress, i think on Jan.7), everything is still mere speculation...
as soon as i have official confirmation, i will post it on my wall.
warmest, regards, . . . . . . . .
So there you are. Everything is speculation at the moment. Is it Pana-ad or Rizal?? Still unknown. We just have to be patient and wait for the official notification.
