Okay, just cancelled our flights. Any idea when we will get confirmation? Obviously a lot of us want to watch the match but have to fit this around work etc. Thanks for any info.

From the different sources, they say confirmation will come after the AFC Congress. I just don't know when the congress is.

But as far as I know it can't be moved as the Feb 9 and Feb 16 games coincides with the other playoffs for the Challenge Cup. It's not something we can dictate just because we want more fans to watch on a weekend but it's what AFC has scheduled.
Moving the match dates may not be a good idea as other participants may already have made their preparations.

With just over a month to go you would have thought dates and travel plans were set in stone. However it is the Mongolian fans who may wish to watch their team I feel for most if dates are moved. That said I will now wait until Jan 7th before re-booking flights. I just wonder if we did a group booking for flights/hotels could get any discount?

FOR CRAIG...I hope this one will help... for Hotel Group bookings they usually give 15+1 or 10+1 (for every ten rooms, will give 1 room Free Of Charge) and also for airlines they are giving a fixed rate for those travelling 30pax and up (1 group blocking), just have to contact the passenger sales department..

Exactly, I still think those are the final dates. There's going to be 4 playoff games on those dates so it's expected that some countries/FAs have already made their preparations. As for Mongolia, if the playing condition/weather does not suffice, then there's no other choice but to play in another venue.
We can probably have a discount but I doubt if the airlines and hotels understand the demand yet. Remember Craig, this isn't footballing country yet so these institutions do not understand yet a football fan's needs.
For those wondering, here's the rates of the airlines from Manila to Bacolod. Depart Manila on 8th Feb and return on the 10th Feb. Prices below are two-way rates all in.
Zest Air - 2.1k Air Philippines Express - 2.5k Cebu Pacific -2.5k
Hotels aren't that expensive either. There should be hotels there which charges below 2k/night.

Thank you, good info. If we got organised we could maybe save ourselves 10% and be able to enjoy each others company. I intend to book for two so if others were interested we could save money and have fun.

Craig, we can do that next time. Perhaps, we should meet first in Bacolod after the match and discuss on how we can work on group travel arrangements in the future. Maybe, in the long term, we can also organize an away travelling party in other countries.
