i wonder how demoralized or dynamic will the indonesians be on sunday evening. will the fans still come in droves to support tim garuda?
i know that national pride is at stake because they're going up against a surprising relatively new tormentor in the form of the upstart azkals, but w/ this year's disappointing early elimination from the tournament, how will the indon team and their supporters' juices flow?

Most Indonesian fans on Twitter are saying that they'll be treating it as a friendly and would cheer for the Garudas to win it for the ranking. Interestingly, some calls for McMenemy to handle the reins.

Active crowd in the stadium.
Azkals with a very good chance, missed. Cross to the box, shot hit wide
20 min: Doesn't look good for Phil Younghusband with that hit to head.....
25 min: Curt Dizon substituted in for Phil. Phil had head wrapped in bandage and was waiting to come back in, but looks like staff decided to bring in Curt instead.

Thailand is ahead 2:0 against Singapore. We have a good chance to get to the semi.

End of first half. Fairly even, I'd say. Both teams with some chances. The Indonesians clearly interested in a fast paced game, running, long passes in the air to forwards moving toward the box. The Azkals playing a controlled, more possession based attack, moving the ball through the ground.
Stats say zero saves for both teams, but there was one play where the Indonesian GK punched out a ball that I thought was going in.
In the other game, Thailand 2:0 Singapore. If that stays, Azkals move to the semis.

0-0. match ends like it started. Azkals need to be more proactive. Indonesia was running the defense ragged. Cannot play like that against Viet Nam.

Congrats to our team for making it to the semis again. An event they truly missed last year. I hope we could improve our attacking and finishing as we all know the caliber of Vietnam. The Viets didn't conceded a goal and has ferocious attacking. Hoping the Azkals management has a solution for this.
In the previous editions of this tournament, We didn't win any semis game before. Hope this will be broken in this edition. Praying we could reach the finals for the first time.

Congratulations to the Azkals!
Another proud achievement for this team on the up and up. Enjoy the moment.
Enjoy and relish, and then I hope they focus on producing goals against in-form Vietnam.

Daisuke Sato I think is not 100 percent, he played below average in his normal game last night. And Mike Ott from being a well heralded junior player in Germany to a player who can't have a playing time in a senior national team who is outside the World's top 100. We need also an upgrade in the forward position and a fast, quick RB for Steuble and CB player to partner with Silva eventhough De Murga played well last night..

Vietnam
Nickname: Golden Dragons
Suzuki Cup home-and-away with the Azkals: 2 December, 19:30 Local Time, Panaad Stadium 6 December, 19:30 Local Time, My Dinh Stadium
Record in Suzuki Cup 2018: 3W, 1D, 0L
Meetings with the Azkals: 2010 Suzuki Cup, 0-2 Loss 2012 Suzuki Cup, 0-1 Loss 2014 Suzuki Cup, 3-1 Win
Notables: Phuong Cong Nguyen #14, midfielder with 2 goals Anh Duc Nguyen #11, forward, with 2 goals and 2 assists Quang Hai Nguyen #19, MF, most passes in the team at 221, with 84% completion rate Ngoc Hai Que #3, DF, second most passes at 169, with 79% pass completion rate Attendance fill to capacity (40K at My Dinh Stadium, 14K at Hang Day Stadium) in the group matches. Expect a capacity crowd again of ~40K at My Dinh Stadium when they play the Azkals.
While the 2010 game is a watershed moment in Philippines Football history, it is precisely that – history. These are two completely different teams. In this tournament the Golden Dragons have been attack minded, yet have conceded no goals. The Azkals, also stingy with their defense, have given away only three goals – two to Timor Leste and one to Thailand. Expect the same from the teams. Run forward and attack from Vietnam, while the Philippines will attack through a slower but deliberate build up.
