I think pacificgooner is just thinking of a great front end to the team. Angel and Lucena didn't play in Panaad.

Haven't seen any extended highlights, only the crappy ones on a bad angle from the ABS-CBN news clip.
Of the three goals, only one was fluid in that sense that it involved coordination between players. That's the one where Ian heads the ball to a pass to Angel who then heads it for a goal. The other two were the scrappy kinds that the Azkals usually made prior to the 2010 Suzuki Cup. One was a loose ball that Ian kicked in, while the other one was a sole effort by Angel. These are nice outcomes, but the Azkals must be scoring more than these types goals if they are to compete against better opponents. If I'm complaining it's only because I think that the Azkals are capable of so much more. When I see goals from assists, goals from a winger feed to the forward, goals from a give-and-go, I'll stop complaining. Again, I think these are the type of offensive plays the Azkals are capable of NOW.
As for the defense the clean sheet speaks for itself. Great job. The defensive line doesn't usually get heralded but I'm sure they did a good job this game.
For those who've brought up De Jong, he didn't play in this game, he played poorly in his first Indonesia game, and he also played poorly in the Mongolia game. Add to that the earlier release by his Dutch club. All of these negative points are a disconnect to the way he played fantastic defense during the Suzuki Cup. I hope he can find his way back to good form.
The midfield -- where are the highlights? Has anybody seen the game?

i also believe that they can do so much more..the problem here is that they don't really practice as a team -all of them..the others arrive just a day before game time..hopefully we'll have more funds for football after their win..it's time to invest in a sport more promising than basketball..hahaha peace.

I believe we became more defensive because of what happened on the 2nd leg in mongolia... counterattacking is good for the team but slowly we are stepping more on the pedal. Before we are playing not to lose but now we are playing for the win.

As I've mentioned other threads, the key feature that stood out in this match was our aggression and desire to win the ball back, especially in the attacking 3rd. Look at the highlights and notice how quickly we closed down on the ball. We didn't wait to defend when the ball was on our defending 3rd. It was pressure, pressure, pressure from the start. And it did a world of good. But why couldn't we do it against Palestine or Myanmar? Why did we allow these teams time and space on the ball? I guess it has to with being confident enough... or desperate enough. The Bangladesh game was a must-win game so I guess we HAD to pressure with aggression. I just hope this becomes a permanent feature of the Azkals. ----- behoI don't think you'll find any Azkal haters here, mate. Critics such as myself, yes. Sorry but that's just the way we are. No offense given, none taken. ;D ;Dno i never said that you're a hater, i don't wanna mention names but there are suspected haters here in the forum, & i still have'nt seen anyone of them after that rousing victory,. however, when the azkals lost to the kanto boys of japan, considering the fact that it was just a practice game, the haters suddenly pop out of the box & kept on criticizing the azkals as if telling eveybody (hey , what's all the fuss about the azkals, see i told you they can't even handle a japanese collegiate team blah blah blah' if you don't consider them haters then i don't know what "haters" really meant!! ;D

we beat bangladesh by a big margin because at this point, d players had better team chemistry. they were still feeling each other's style and gameplay on d previous games. that's why new players coming on should play a considerable amount of friendly games to gel well with d existing team. team chemistry is evidently key to winning more games.
