when i first heard of the news i admit, i got a little bit discouraged, sabi ko palpak naman to, then came the mongolia game natalo tayo, hehehe sa game, and i didnt like the way the players played specially on the defensive side. But...... this i know, the team is a work in progress and i know they started something good.. that is to awaken this beautiful game of football. GO AZKALS!!!! win, lose or draw sa AZKALS PARIN AKO

sa tingin ko hindi linabas ng player yung buong game nila on that match, nasa japan sila para mag pa acclimatize, hindi para makipag patayan, at ma injured while preparing for Mongolia,. at yung University team from japan eh nag laro ng all out, kasi syempre national team yung kaharap nila. pero kung FIFA sanctioned yung match sa tingin ko hindi mananalo yung University team na yun sa pilipinas. Point of view ko lang itey.

^ Well.. we don't need to get the results too seriously, but we don't have to take it too lightly either. The two games i think clearly showed some remarkable difference between a noob country and an advanced country in football. There's no reason for Kanto boys to play their hearts out either in such unofficial games against a national team they've never even heard about before. And even if it's the case you're assuming, second defeat by even worse margin cannot be explained.
We just don't need to talk about this anymore. Everything's already explained here enough.
1. We fielded mostly homegrown players. 2. Jap college football is very competitive and the players are superior in everything to our homegrown national team players. 3. It were just a couple of tune up matches after all. If it was a real competition and if we found the opponent was technically better, we must have played more defensively and would have not conceded such a lot of goals.

I agree this topic has been discussed before already. They could have kept the goals against lower if they played defensively. Here is an example of the posts before:
It's just a warm up game. It doesn't mean anything. Besides a lot of the players in this univ. team were prospects of the Yokohoma Marinos, a pro team in Japan. This is what Coach Weiss has to say:
No worries for all Azkals fans,” the German mentor, who turned 46 Friday, “(Yes) we had big problems adapting to the weather and had a match versus a good university side… but the result really doesn’t matter too much and it shows you that we still have to learn a lot.”
Weiss acknowledged that the college team they faced was superior in both technique and teammanship than the Azkals side, saying: “The team (Japanese) trains under professional conditions since young age, (and) they are affiliated to Yokohama Marinos, a big club in Japan. Some of these players might be pros in the future.”
