Mrpmosh,
I didn't realize you opened this board. I usually discuss this in bigsoccer.com. Looks like Mexico and the US will advance to the U-20 World Cup as usual. Having followed the US team, I can definitely say that they are bringing the strongest, deepest and most experienced U-20 team in their history. They have not only developed the best crop of local players with the most professional experience ever, but they have scoured all over the world, bringing in the likes of former U-17 youth captains of Germany(Hurzeler) and Portugal( Zahavi) as well as your own youth Mexican players Salgado and Ruelas. I am cautiously optimistic that the US will do well in Colombia even against the traditional contenders from Europe and South America.

Hope so, I want CONCACAF teams to represent us well in FIFA's tournaments, by the way... will they call that Agudelo guy to Colombia?

It seems like Agudelo has become a regular in the US senior mens team so it is uncertain if he would be available for the U-20 team but it is possible he would be released to the youth team for several reasons not the least of which being of Colombian descent, he has stated in the past that he would like to play in front of his parents countrymen. It would depend upon any conflicting schedules with the men's team, his form with his club, and the availability of strikers for the men's team.

He's Colombian born in fact, not just his parents. I hope he and Erick "Cubo" Torres go to the WC, I'm sure they could end in Europe if they do so.

I would prefer that Agudelo plays in the Gold Cup this summer as this will forever captie him to the US.

Today's results:
Honduras 0 - 2 Panama USA 1 - 2 Guatemala
Two surprices today, both favorites the USA & Honduras got eliminated in their race to Colombia.
Also, it's a history win for los chapines, is the first time they qualifiy for a FIFA WC (in any category).

Yeah,I read that earlier. That is a big upset. This is the first time the US did not qualify since 1995. That is what you get for not calling up your first team. They are missing Agudelo, Hurzeler, Zahavi, Gatt, Wood, Ruelas and Gyau. I guess they thought they could qualify with only half a team saving the others for the finals. The coach Rongen should be fired. With the U-20 championship out of the way, the USSF should just accept the Copa America invitation and send the U-23 team reinforced by the stronger U-20 players.
Some favorites in Europe also got eliminated as Germany fell to Iceland 1-4 and got eliminated from the UEFA U-21 championship.
