Fulham given fair play Europa berth(AFP) Thursday 26 May 2011 Fulham will play in the UEFA Europa League next season after being awarded a place today under the Premier League's Fair Play League. England received an additional Europa League place for next season after finishing second in UEFA's national fair-play table. Chelsea finished top of the Fair Play League but had already qualified for the UEFA Champions League and Fulham were in second spot. Mark Hughes' side had just one player sent off in league matches all season - that happened in the very last game leading to suggestions that relegated Blackpool could pip them to the spot. The Premier League said in a statement: "Fulham FC has finished the season as the highest placed club in the 2010/11 Fair Play League that has not already qualified for UEFA competitions via the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League. "The club will take the additional European place awarded to England and compete in next season's UEFA Europa League." Link: www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=1441745.html

Hughes resigns as Fulham managerPublished: Thursday 2 June 2011, 19.55CET Former Wales coach Mark Hughes has resigned as manager of Fulham FC having led the club to an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League in his sole season in charge. Mark Hughes has resigned as manager of Fulham FC after only a season in charge at Craven Cottage. The former Wales, Blackburn Rovers FC and Manchester City FC boss was appointed by Fulham at the start of the 2010/11 campaign following Roy Hodgson's departure. He led them to an eighth-placed Premier League finish, but will leave the club at the end of June after serving a month's notice. "As a young, ambitious manager I wish to move on to further my experiences," said the ex-Manchester United FC, FC Barcelona and FC Bayern München striker. "I believe my management team and I have done a good job and the club has a strong foundation from which they can go forward." Fulham have earned a place in the first qualifying round of the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League through the domestic fair play league, after England were granted one of the three additional places in the competition via the UEFA Respect Fair Play rankings. Dempsey should stay IMO, but he wants a big club. Only problem is that none of the biggies want him...
Park Chu Young is apparently on the verge of signing for them. Good move assuming Dempsey's going the other way.

Fulham Football Club is delighted to welcome our new owner Shahid Khan to Craven Cottage. The transaction has been approved by the Barclays Premier League and Khan assumes 100 per cent ownership of the Club, debt-free, as of today. A formal announcement is scheduled at Craven Cottage on Saturday at 1pm London time. ow.ly/mUW3WShahid Khan is the owner of Jacksonville Jaguars since 2011. Unfortunately, in the years since, the NFL team had a very disappointing run when they purchased former Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey as head coach. During the 2012 season, despite getting wide receiver Justin Blackmon and Laurent Robinson in the Draft, the team finished with a 2–14 record, the worst in franchise history. Let's see if Fulham will follow the fate of the Jaguars. Should I see them at the relegation zone at mid-season, well and good. #sarcasm
