He will meddle with the management, doon magkakaroon ng problema. He's the owner, without prior knowledge of football, mahihirapan siya mag adopt sa football club ownership. Seeing the problems surrounding player salaries/stipends lalo na dito sa mga provincial FAs, mahirap na kung walang prior knowledge ang may-ari sa isport na ito. It's not just the same as owning a business company. He will take care of buying players, he will give salaries. And he will give the go ahead pag gusto niyang mag sibak ng mga coaching staff. Doon nagkakadali. Mahirap magkaroon ng isang may-ari ng futbol club kung ang iniisip niya ay paano lang gumawa ng kita. Mahirap na Mahirap iyon, upon seeing numerous cases of club owners (Leeds United, Portsmouth, Getafe CF, Lille OSC) who gave a damn more about profit and not about giving joy to the football fans.

If Pacquiao starts his own football club, would this encourage other rich people in PH to start their own also?

Totoo yan. Look what happened sa Liverpool. Mga Americanong magaling sa Baseball ang humawak. Tingnana niyo ngayon ang Liverpool...patay!!!

If Pacquiao starts his own football club, would this encourage other rich people in PH to start their own also? nope, ang mga business men dito will look more on the profit-side of football rather than of the development side of it. Mahirap iyon, lalo na simula't sapul eh gusto na agad magkaroon ng kita.

Besides Manny Pacquiao, who are other wealthy personalities in our country who could start football clubs?1.) Manny Pangilinan -> has shown his support for the Azkals before and was the man behind the Smart-PFF National Club Championships. He has always been known as a passionate sports fan and although basketball is his forte, he may just prove to be a reliable and dedicated football club owner as well. 2.) Jon Ramon Aboitiz & Family -> They have showed interest in financing the proposed football village in Cebu, if they are willing to spend that amount surely they can afford to set up their own football club? I'm not sure to what extent their football knowledge is but they definitely have their hearts set on the sport. Perhaps their club's home ground is the Football Village stadium itself? 3.) San Miguel Corporation (Eduardo Cojuangco) -> Correct me if I'm wrong but he does own the three San Miguel teams in the PBA right? Quite impressive for a sports enthusiast. I am not sure if he has any interest on football but what I do know is that he is passionate with his sports. San Migual F.C. "The Beermen" anyone?

Enrique Razon of ICTSI. Don't know if he is into football, but he supports many sporting and cultural endeavors. Mr. Razon's ICTSI is a major player in South America. He has major investments (in the millions of dollars range) in port operations in Argentina and Brazil, and he is opening up another one in Colombia. His club here could do their pre-season training in Argentina, or at the least, he's got the network and contacts to scout for a proper South American coach and trainer for his club.

I doubt if Billionaires like Lucio Tan and Henry Sy would sponsor any team, but having Philippine Airlines or SM corporation emblazoned on your jersey would be damn epic.

Correct me If Im wrong guys.
I Think Pacquiao owns a Semi-Pro Basketball team. MP-Gen San Warriors. Is there a big difference between owning a basketball team from a F.C.?
If he can on a Basketball Team, I think he can also own / manage an F.C.?

Actually, he can set up a whole Athletic Club. Do you guys know that Real Madrid and Barcelona have basketball teams too? They also compete in a Spanish basketball league and in league competitions within Europe similar to the Europa Cup and Champions League but for basketball.
Gen San Athletic Club with its own football, basketball, tennis, swimming, volleyball teams etc. He sure can afford to build a sports complex to support the teams and to help recoup some of the operating expenses they can charge a minimal fee so people in the community can use the facilities also.

I think he can. He owns a basketball team in PBA(Air21) and he's trying to buy another PBA franchise (Barako Bull).

I would like If a businessman would fund those ancient venerable sporting clubs like Manila Nomads or resurrect some of those old defunct clubs like the Bohemians S.C. that was the ole club of HRH Paulino Alcantara.
