The fourth round will see the group winners and runners-up from the third round play in two groups of five.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil, while the two third-placed teams advance to the fifth round.

Round V
Teams finishing 3rd in the fourth round groups will play each other to determine a possible 5th qualifier from Asia.

The fifth round winner will play either CONCACAF's fourth-placed team, CONMEBOL's fifth-placed team or OFC's first-placed team (to be determined in a draw) in a home-and-away play-off. The winner of this play-off qualifies for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
