Ok I'm asking because I really don't know. Yes I've seen the FIFA site, but are rankings any different(when they calculate it) if its a senior team versus a U23 team? I did not think this match was going to count because(as far as I know) they don't rank U23's vs senior national team matches. I am ready to be educated...
Unless we really are playing the senior team? Confusing because different news outlets say different things(Olympic team, U23 team, Senior??).

If it is Uzbekistan senior NT it count in the rankings , if U23 NT it dont count. Organizers selling tickets now and saying it is Uzbekistan NT , but other reports saying it is Uzbekistan U23. Uzbekstan FA dont even want to confirm the friendly.

Jonny here's another thing.
Why would the Azkal coach and Dan Palami play a FIFA friendly now? Isn't it a training/practice match in preparation for the Challenge Cup? So they should be playing none FIFA "A" matches which shouldn't count in rankings, right? I mean, if you were coach won't you want to see as much of your players play in a match instead of just the 11 plus 3 subs? AND its the first match, you would think the coach will want almost every one who can play, play.
Why would they want to play the toughest opponent when the team is least ready(in a ranked match)?
Doesn't make sense.

I think FIFA will still list it as a sanctioned game even though it might be the Uzbekistan U-23 that the Azkals will be playing but it will not be considered in the rankings. All it means is that they will have FIFA sanctioned officials present to observe and referee the game and to make sure that all the rules with regards to venue, etc are being followed.

It will affect the rankings if indeed the Uzbekistan men's team will participate but news from the gulf says that it is the U-23 team instead. We will have to wait on the official announcement from the Uzbeks.

Indeed even if we lose, any change in the rankings will be minimal because of the disparity. However any positive result(win or draw) will cause a big jump. Nothing to lose and everything to gain from this match ranking wise, assuming of course that Uzbekistan decides to field their men's team. Nevertheless, a big disparity in goals would be embarrassing, so I would rather much prefer the U-23 which will not count in the FIFA rankings.

The Uzbek Olympic U-23 coach has indeed confirmed that they will be playing the Azkals on Feb. 11, acc to Nurafshon, our Uzbek source on bigsoccer. This game will therefore not count in the FIFA rankings.

This game will therefore not count in the FIFA rankings. Are you sure it won't count? I was just checking the Fifa site's History Fixtures, and I didn't see a fixture of us against Bahrain U-23 (Which was held last year) although I was able to see the 2010 Long teng cup fixture of Hong Kong vs Philippines (which then Hongkong Squad was U-23) and according somewhere (sorry I forgot the source but I'm sure I've read it) it was an FIFA International "A" match which will count on the rankings.

I checked on our ranking prognosis in FIFA's website and this match is not included in their rankings calculation. Yes I remember that Tiggy. PHI vs HKG in Long Teng Cup 2010 is in the list of FIFA fixtures and results for PHI even though they used U-23 side. I don't know if that match affects the rankings of that month/ By the way, the next ranking will now be released on March 7, 2012 to give way the 2014 FIFA WCQ on Feb 29, 2012 so our match vs MAS will now be included in the next ranking update. Our two enemies in Dubai play and UZB U-23 won against AUS U-23. First game will be the toughest one
