I didn't realize that the players climbed over the fence to celebrate with the fans but here they are. Yes they did cjeagle. We were in the white bleachers and after the final whistle a number of the players rushed to the fence to acknowledge the crowd. Carli straddled the fence and threw his jersey to the crowd and I think someone handed him a shirt which he put on while still sitting on the fence. Then a number of kids climbed over the fence and ran onto the pitch to hug the players with security people frantically chasing them down. In other countries you have grown men doing pitch invasion, in our case it was little kids. It was great. Afterwards, a number of the players including Coach Weiss who passed by the lobby of Century Park obligingly stopped to talk and pose for photos with supporters and fans waiting for them. My son got a number of photos with his favorite players. Jeffrey Christaens was holding the trophy, posing for photos and talking with the fans. He spent like more than 40 minutes in the lobby holding that trophy.

So happy for this team. I just hope all conflicts will be resolved before the Suzuki Cup. Winning solves everything, so maybe everyone is in a better mood to discuss now.

By the way, because of the success of the Peace Cup, Will this event be an annual event every year in PHI? It's a good training ground for PHI when we compete in major tournaments Hope this will expand if this tournament will continue every year

Let's keep the Peace Cup going and invite Hong Kong back next year. Good training ground for the Azkals, chance to cheer for the fans.

i've been wondering since last week what's the reason behind the absence of hong kong? is it political in nature (the luneta grandstand tragedy 2 years ago) or is it just plain unavailability?

Last time i heard, they will gain nothing in the tournament.. Next Peace Cup, I wish we can invite the teams from AFF Suzuki Cup Group B..Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore and i think it will be good for attendance, the rivalries between IND & MAL also has to do with it .. Also a potential rivalry building up for PHL vs SIN.. Just a thought.

I agree regarding the awards, especially the Fair Play awards, I bet Guam could be the best candidate for that, so to give them recognition as well.
