What we have to be keen on is that the Azkals MUST PLAY FOR THE WHOLE 90 MINUTES! If they can take anything away from SIngapore's match with Laos is that Singapore will come back in spades. They CANNOT come out flat in that first match. They do, and they are going to have one bitch of a time advancing, Furthermore, never mind begging for clubs to release x, y or z. Deal with what you have in front of you. THIS team has to play for 90 minutes for two matches. We need to go with the attitude that the European clubs will flip us the bird and we have to move forward from it.

From what i saw on our 2 friendlies with singapore we were obviously the way better team and we dont even have most of our european players that time so this semifinal will be a easy match up for the boys

@ Hisashi - we can still be beaten by Singapore. Wag muna tayo magyabang para di tayo malasin.

I agree this is a different "animal" to a friendly plus a measure of "revenge" will no doubt be in Singapores plans.
The comforting fact, though, for the Philippines is that if Cagara or Mulders will be taken away, we still have Jonsson and Christiaens at LB(Christiaens was the starter in our first win over SG) and Marwin(who is more of an offensive CM than a DM or 2010 talisman Chris Greatwich) or even starting Angel at CM which he has done before.

I think this is a good match-up for the Azkals. SIN is really a good team and very clinical. However, they are not as shifty and fast as THA or MAS players, so the Azkals would match up pretty well with them. Our back four will welcome this match up more than if it were MAS.
Also, SIN is home to a big Filipino community. The biggest OFW group, I think, among all ASEAN nations. So, it's good for us. Not to mention, we have the same time zone. All pluses for the Azkals.
The only downside I see is that the Starsport commentators are heavily biased in favor of the Lions. If you noticed the coverage of the SIN-LAO game, those British commentators are way too obvious in praising SIN and putting down LAO. Perhaps, it's because they are all based in SIN. So better watch AKTV instead as it may just infuriate the Kaholeros in us.

the good think about facing Singapore is we can read the concerns and rant of their local supporters towards their coaching staff. they are not in favor of the coaching staff's players selections and tactics as they see Avramovic has this favoritism problem. they speak english in the Singapore NT FB page same as what we do here. it's very interesting and good to hear that they think we are not an easy team anymore, some of their supporters even said that we will defeat them if they performed in the semis they way they played against Laos
apart from that, they are calling out their fellow Singaporeans to buy a tickets as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of Filipino supporters dominating the hometown crowd in an away game at JBS

Let's be fair, we were very lucky with that last match against SIN in Cebu. They had twice as much shot attempts and twice as much shots on goal than our team. We relied too much on our GK to bail us out on all those shots on goal. We need to lower that statistic. Prevent them from getting too many attempts. The important thing is we don't give away important away goals. A 1-0 or 2-0 scoreline for us would suffice. As long as they stay at 0.

the last game between PHL and Sin was great but we should not forget that Sin had the better chances, shots on target and they dominated possesions all throughout the game:) but, i stongly believe we can advance to the final round possibly against Thai again!! sucks............
