I find it weird Weiss called up Lucena who could only play 3 games. We can't add players after losing one due to club duties, correct? Lucena said that he will be probably back by the 2nd leg of the semis since his team will go on winterbreak.

It would be a great boost off defense if Lucena is back for the SG Leg..

One game at a time though. This being such a huge milestone for Philippine Football, we just have to win on Saturday! I hope Rizal will look its best too! The whole of SEA will be watching!

still no confirmation of the availability of Angel,Cagara and Lucena on Saturday. Singaporeans are already speculating that this is just a mind games by our coaching staff
this is Angel's latest tweet
@karldecena @12_guirado hi angel! are you already cleared by your club to play for the Azkals on saturday?
Angel Guirado @12_guirado @karldecena Yes, the problem is that no Filipino federation sends me the ticket and maybe I'm late to the game
perhaps he is just waiting for the PFF management to book him a flight back to manila?

and ace bright is angry @acebright @12_guirado really? On twitter?? Maybe Ace Bright should stop tweeting for a moment and make sure Angel is on his way here. Who the hell cares what's being said on twitter. We are facing Singapore on Saturday and we are talking about our player who set up the winning goal against Vietnam and made the insurance goal against Myanmar. If he got clearance from his club already, get him here pronto.

A draw or lose will not be pleasing for Azkals since it is their home game. Most likely SIN will play defensive hoping for counter attacks to have advantage going back home. hope Azkals could win by 2 goals more since an away goal equals 2 in aggregate computation.

Most likely SIN will play defensive hoping for counter attacks to have advantage going back home. hope Azkals could win by 2 goals more since an away goal equals 2 in aggregate computation. A 0-0 draw will be a good result as this means Singapore has no away goals and all we need to get through to the finals is get a scoring draw minimum in the second leg. Time for "new" Philippine football fans to start learning the intricacies of home and away matches where away goals rule are in effect. This type of fixture requires a different approach not only in terms of tactics and strategy, but in the mental aspect as well. Keeping a clean sheet at home means for every goal we score in Singapore, they have to score two to come out ahead on aggregate. This places more pressure on the other team, which would make them more prone to mistakes. Of course, I'm hoping we beat Singapore at home. That would still be the best scenario, esp if we keep a clean sheet. A lot will depend on who will be available. Lucena will only be available on the 2nd leg. Guirado doesn't have his ticket yet. Cagara is a big question mark. Jonsson, is he fit to play already? As several posters pointed out here, Sacapano had one hell of a match in Cebu when we beat Singapore. He will have to replicate that because Singapore will definitely get their attempts at goal and we need to make sure none of those get through.

Btw... medyo OT lang.. during the Myanmar game Gier was our captain at the start of the match... when Chieffy was sub in I didn't see him wearing the captains armband... in situations like this were the regular team captain came of the bench should the assigned captain for the game give up his armband for the regular captain?... just asking...

Thing is when home teams play in front of their massive home supporters, fans want to see goal/s scored which would tweak their formation in more offensive outlook. An added pressure to score. An away team thats going home with no goal against them will have more psychological upside since at home they have their crowd cheer their evry move and try to disarray the other team by boos and other sort of hostilities. Home crowd factor. Realistically it is very hard to score in away match. so the more goals they can score at home will edge them out on the 2nd leg.
