and what was worse is that the head referee after kicking the ball towards the linesman only gave him a yellow card... if not for that second assault he wouldn't have gotten a red... stup!d decision by the head referee... should have given the strait red for kicking the ball towards his fellow official...

I think Kaya players was not part in any of the trouble that happened in the game vs Phl Army it was between BETITA and the Linesman...

Saw the entire game. Kaya FC was not involved, it was just Betita vs. the linesman. Betita was frustrated because Soriano was not ruled offside (he wasn't).
Cagayanan and Betita give the league a bad name. UFL should take harsh actions against this kind of behavior.

maybe the head ref was just giving betita a chance since its just a natural reaction that he got frustrated.. nevertheless, it should had been a red card...
but, ang tapang din ng linesman ha.. di sya tumakbo or nag fight back... he kept his composure and poise.. very professional indeed.. our hero sa pitch.. baka nman pwede bigyan ng award yan.. it was a good call and he stood on it..
congrats..

Global acquires De Jong on loan Stepping up efforts to building a strong team not just for its title retention bid in the United Football League but also for the AFC Presidents Cup, Global acquired Jason de Jong on a loan deal with Stallion Sta. Lucia for the remainder of the season. Though his transfer papers have been filed already, it remains to be seen whether or not De Jong will be able to suit up for the UFL champs against Air Force on Thursday. Only 23 years old, the Fil-Dutch midfielder is an experienced player not just at club level but also for the national team where he has been a regular fixture since 2008. www.globalfc.ph/news/global-acquires-de-jong-loan

Armyman Betita faces sanctions for attack on linesman as UFL chief fumes
THE United Football League is expected to act swiftly on the case of Philippine Army’s Rodrigo Betita, who was ejected from the Troopers’ 3-0 loss to Kaya on Tuesday after kicking a linesman in disgust over a non-call late in the match. Betita, contending that Kaya’s Janrick Soriano was offside when he scored his team’s last goal late in stoppage time, kicked the ball to a linesman and was booked a yellow card. As if his action was not enough, he kicked the same linesman again on his left leg, earning him a straight red card and an automatic suspension in their next game. UFL chairman Santi Araneta expressed his disgust of Betita's action on Twitter on Wednesday. "Rodrigo Betita does not belong in the #UFL or even the Philippine Army! Absolute disgrace!" Araneta, also the owner of Kaya Fc, tweeted on Wednesday. Araneta told Spin.ph on Wednesday that the league will make an announcement about further sanctions on the Troopers veteran “no later than tomorrow.” If ever, the decision will be a considerably faster response compared to the still-unresolved case of Green Archers United’s Elle Cagayanan, who was also ejected for kicking Kaya booter Dario Dakic last month. Araneta explained the delay in the decision is due to the sudden resignation of UFL commissioner Bonnie Ladrido, a member of the semi-professional league’s disciplinary committee. www.spin.ph/sports/football/news/armyman-betita-faces-sanctions-for-attack-on-linesman-as-ulf-chief-fumes

a ban is the appropriate sanction. however, let's not hand it to him.. let's not take away from him the game he loves to play.. give him a chance.. suspend him for the remaining season is the most humanitarian sanction.. he just want to help the team which he failed to thats why he got emotional and frustrated.. and of course, it was intentional, alright.

If you do not go down hard on him you will give license to anyone to "loose their cool" and assault another player or official knowing they will be treated with kid gloves. IF they don't punish him appropriately what will the official feel? They'll be intimidated by these players allowing for a less regulated game which ultimately will make the UFL a joke.(Check the PBA handling of the the Balkmann(?) incident, an action of a truly mature sports league).
He lost his "humanitarian rights"when he failed to practice "humanity" on the official and same for Cagayanan, this guy assaulted(or tried too) a player from behind(and he wasn't even involved in the contested play!) And still no punishment...
A ban for the season to think about his stupidity is the least he should get.
UFL Rumor Mill:
Sacapano to Global but no confirmation yet.

i would rather want to see the Ateneo keeper Nick O'Donnel for Global. he is still young but he is tough. he played well in the last AFF U-19 tourney. i heard Kaya acquired him in this march transfer window but i don't think this guy would get enough playing time with Kaya since they have one of the best keeper in the league in Saba plus the promising back-up keeper Russel Pierson

On a happier note, how about former Homeless World Cup Philippines player Janrick Soriano!? I've caught 3 of his games and the kid isn't getting lucky, he just that good! Hurray for another truly "local" standout!

Janrick has skills but because of the depth of Kaya, he doesn't get enough playing time. he should have stayed at Pachanga
