It appears that we cannot host a game of the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup in the Philippines (no, not even in Panaad). So the PFF have been given the option to play either in a neutral country of in the home of the opposition. Which do you think the PFF should choose? If they choose to go to a neutral country, where should they go? My vote is Singapore, lots of Pinoys there to support the team. Fans from the RP would find it easy to get to too.

Malaysia! It will be almost a home game because the fans will cheer for the Azkals to win rather than the traditionally stronger Indonesia. They would rather face the Azkals than Indonesia. The tournament is still going for them so there's a lot of interest.
There aren't enough Pinoys in Singapore to fill the stadium. Besides, the tournament is over for them so interest has waned.
As for proceeds ($$), if PFF gets funds according gate receipts then it's definitely in their interest to have a full stadium and this will definitely happen in Malaysia.

But Im still hoping they can still pull a string on this and play it in the Philippines. Where do they play the UFL games? none of them are standard?

well, lets hope that the backdoor appeal being done by some people prosper so it can be held in panaad
malaysia is a good choice if they win against vietnam they will cheer for us. but if not they wouldn't care.

Yeah, I hope the appeal to hold the semis in Panaad succeeds. The team wants to play there so that rules out any other stadium in the country in my opinion.
Really? Malaysia? I see your point that Malaysia would cheer us on, but I'd rather go to where Pinoys would be. Though I'm quite certain there are a lot of Filipinos in Malaysia. Anyone have any data on which SEA country has the most pinoys in them? (Other than Philippines, of course)

in one blog i suggested singapore, there's pretty good number of pinoys there, but i doubt if they'll fill up a 40k stadium. which is why it should be held here. panaad is small but im certain it will be jampacked with people. our team loves it there.

Indeed, I'd fly out to Bacolod just to watch them.

So there is a backdoor appeal going on? I hope people can pull strings on this. It will be a very big disappointment for us and the Azkals if the game will be played elsewere. Now that we know we have a hosting problem, What happens to the Mongolian game next year? Neutral ground again?sh**t. OT: I would like to see the azkals play on a freezing environment, hahaha

Well, had Singapore made it to the semis, where would they host? Maybe we can fill up their smaller, alternative stadiums?

one question, what does it take for a certain stadium to make it to "tournament standards?"
