sugod.com/9931/hot-prospect-iain-ramsay-to-play-for-azkals/Hot prospect Iain Ramsay to play for Azkalss Manila, JUNE 19 (Sugod.com) – The international call-up of filipino left midfielder Iain Ramsay was a hot topic among football aficionados, and rumors say that he may be bound to play for Azkals in the near future. Ramsay, at 23, is currently looking to renew his contract with Adelaide United in the Australian Hyundai A-League – a top tier tournament whose season is set to start on the 8th of October 2011. The young footballer made a breakthrough into the first team with amazing performances. And scoring the winning goal against his former club Syndey FC was the highlight of his career last season. With his contract set to end on the 23rd of July 2011, the former National Youth League Player of the Year’s future is still unclear. But optimism should be on his side with his international career looks very bright. ________________________________ Any confirmation on this news? Hey guys, A guy who is in contact with Iain Ramsay himself has given the Adelaide playmaker a call and Ramsay himself confirmed that he has not made up his mind yet. Therefore the article is false. Iain also added that he has a contract with Adelaide until 2013.

Hmm...that's strange, it does say October 8th. I was told that pre-season preparations would hinder Iain's visit though. It is correct that the A-League season will not start until October. All clubs are now in pre-season training. It is a very long pre-season training which will be cut into segments. There will be times during this period that the players will have a break for possibly a week in each segment. Practice matches will be organized as the time gets closer to the opening of the season. Previously the season always opened in August but this year the administrators have changed the time so that season opening doesnt clash with the finals series of the Rugby League and AFL. Media is dominated by these two sports through August -September hence the change.

Based on that article we deduce that though playing for Philippines is only his second choice yet there is still possibility that he can wear Azkals kit in the future.

Philippine temptation for Ramsay Michael Cockerill July 23, 2011 Ads by Google Iain Ramsay of Adelaide and Milan Susak of the Roar compete for the ball earlier this year. Photo: Getty Images PLAYING for the Socceroos is the dream but playing against them might become the reality for emerging talent Iain Ramsay if the Philippines can maintain their resurgence in a World Cup play-off against Kuwait that kicks off this weekend. Perth-born, Sydney-raised and now playing for Adelaide United, the 23-year-old midfielder is eligible for the Philippines through his mother's heritage and has been approached several times over the past six months to declare allegiance to a nation that just five years ago languished eight spots off the bottom of the FIFA rankings. But a drive to find players with Filipino blood has put the ''Azkals'' just two games away from potentially being drawn against Australia in the third round of the 2014 Asian World Cup qualifying campaign.

11-11-11 is truly special for Pinoy football. A come from behind win by the Azkals over Laos and Iain Ramsay scoring the winning goal against Gold Coast United. What about 12-12-12 next year bringing us to the podium of AFF Suzuki Cup? Sweet!

Imagine the damage we could do to the teams if we have him, Jonathan de Guzman (still uncapped), Mulder, James YH and Chieffy on the midfield.
Weiss would be DROOLING with the offensive power he has!
