That is good guys. Front page coverage, huh. I never thought I would see the day. The game of football needs all the attention it can get back home, and this final's event is the most important football event we have had in our history. I hope it lives up to everyone's expectations.

The game of football needs all the attention it can get back home, and this final's event is the most important football event we have had in our history. I hope it lives up to everyone's expectations. Would've been swell if ABS-CBN further drummed up the event by playing the teaser on ABS Ch2 and not just on the Sports and Action channel. Doesn't hurt too if they'd show the game live on Ch2 as well considering it's not a primetime slot just like what they do with select NBA games. Happy though that news of the team's performance gets coverage by the major outfits. And I admire ABS for realluy believing the team would advance, teaser for the finals was played during the wrap-up. Still, I expect the finals to be anticipated not just by us, but by casual fans as well.

I Am Worried about our defense because the striker of Palestine is fast, can hold the ball and can DIVE as well Dooley should address the tackles inside the box. But I Am confident that our guys can pull up a goal coming from short passes and a through ball, Philippine azkals can exploit CB's of Palestine from this plays Palestinians are strong and tall but not that fast.
My First XI
MULLER Rota Aguinaldo Gier Sato Lucena JDJ Reichelt Mulders Schrock PYH
Subs JYH/Del Rosario - Simon.G - Steuble

Going to be the toughest game for us in the tournament. If we defend like we did against Maldives, we will be down 2 or 3 goals before half time. Dooley better have a trick up his sleeve.
IMO, the keys to this game will be:
-One more super game from Muller Aside from the poor decision for that 1st Maldives goal, I don't think there's any reason to doubt that he will be one of the main keys to victory.
-Limit Aguinaldo's mistakes We will need both of Lucena and Gier to tidy up after him. I don't think Dooley rates him as much as any of us but he sees him as an integral part of his system. It might be because of his tight marking which is important if you play attacking with a high back line.
-Fitness With short tournaments like this + the usual lack of match fitness from some of the players + injuries + seasickness etc. Palestine will have an upper hand fitness-wise. If not for Dooley's player rotations, we'd once again be limping towards the finish line right now.
-Getting the most out of Schrock If only he is 100%, we'd already have one hand on the trophy right now.
-No More Penalties For Pete's sake, we have to stop giving up penalties. We've conceded a penalty twice in four games. That is terrible defending at any level and there's no excuse for that. We can't expect Muller to bail our defense out every time. Muller's sweeping adventures, is probably indication of how little he trusts his back-line. But who can blame him?
How i think we should line up.
Rota - Gier - Aguinaldo - Sato - - - - - - Lucena JYH - Mulders - Steuble - Porteria - - - - - - -PYH
Subs: De Jong/Greatwich for Steuble, Reichelt for Porteria, Schrock for JYH
Prediction: We win 2-1 Goals from PYH and Schrock
Pilipinas Pilipinas Ole Ole Ole!

For sure Palestine still have a grudge against us since we beat them 4-3 in their last meeting 2 years ago for a crucial 3rd place match. Now for the final game, we should defend, win and prevent them from taking revenge.
BTW any injury updates for Palestine players? Fingers Crossed for a PHI win. GOOD LUCK PHI

I think a lot of this game will be influenced of how the referee manage his calls. Referee should be aware of the diving history of Al-fawaghra and Abuhabib this will be crucial. One miss call and this game could turn out to be a melee. ___________________________________________________________________________________________

Kinakabahan ako kay Aguinaldo. And I think pati siya rin kinakabahan. This is already the Finals, the kid might not handle the pressure. Good thing we have del Rosario and even Lucena as choices for the center back position (options for CB? Yes Michael Weiss, we have that!) Amani is not yet confident enough, hesitates to kick the ball forward and opts to let the GK do the kicking. He might be good on pressuring the opponents, but having a newbie at the Finals could be risky. We have the Peace Cup for him to shine.
And I agree with one of the posters here who said that the game should be shown on ABS-CBN instead of Sports+Action. The game will begin at midnight and they only show TV shopping during that time. Besides, it's the FINALS. And it's the NATIONAL TEAM. Please naman kahit ngayon lang.

i rather choose Aguinaldo over del Rosario to be honest. Lucena is our better option at CB if Aguinaldo will not start. but if Lucena starts as holding mid and not be subs out, this may sort out the problem with our defense. also, we must find a way to neutralize and minimize corners. this is our perennial problem against taller opponents. we are not really good defending against set pieces.
my main concern right now is our offense. against the taller Palestine's defense, i think we will be having a hard time penetrating the box area. we should concentrate more in long ranges shot.

"Its the final. It doesnt matter. You'd have to be dead not to play," - @s17stephan says when asked if he's fit for final vs Palestine. . .
And I just got a confirmation, Steuble is also fit to play tomorrow. . .
