why not we must improve first our recent NT 's like
Basketball ...we are former powerhouse and because of politicking in amatuer and professional league our NT fell lower and lower....I still believe in our basketball though were short but we are agile.....our set plays is as old as jaworski we need an international coach to train our coach...
Baseball / Softball......our little leagues and amatuers is a former champion holders...recently 2005 or 06 the softball team from bacolod won the world title....but still it ponders me why our senior teams especially in baseball didnt win the asian crown for the last 50 years???this is the sport that needed attention baseball is the 23rd in the world.....and it fits to us no height requirement...just knows to run, bat and dive for the bases....
Athletics.....during the bagong lipunan our athletes is the queen of asia...what happen now....we have the resources poor kids from the province...train them....
amatuer boxing...we have the greatest professional boxing in world...but we have only 2 silver medal in the olympics....
in short why do we need to introduce this rugby team????we are not physically big....example japan always joins on the world cup but they fail to win simple because they are not physically big.....introduce nyo yang laro sa tondo malamang magsaksak na lang sila...hehehe...

sorry for the late reply guys ...too busy..... cjeagle ..it is good to hear that the players from the province is taking noticed, that all I need it a start....hoping that the attention of the training program will be open to anyone especially to thos who fought and play on the under 23 or any other event that the PFF organize. However hopefully not only beloya.....though he got the best striker but Dolino is the MVP hopefully they got the shot....not only those people but the top athlete of each provinces...even if it is not inlcude to the NT rooster but they will still included in the training under coach weiss. As what coach fegediro said "œThere are a lot more talented players in the province and I hope football officials will reach out to them" For the person that you mention Ferrer, basa and tuason...im sorry to say but I think they dont deserve the slot.......etheridge, de jong, ott of course yes....cam cam and pascual i dont know them yet..... pendong if indonesia was ban then football is temporary will be not held in palembang it will be open next 2013 Sea games... @ Alluz.....I agree with you....and include dolino, he is one of the key why beloya have a high score (assist).....

Guys as recently concluded under 23 tourney.....we could start supporting the players from this tourney....a deep training perhaps with a skilled coach...or a possible shot for the NT.
Best keeper John Robert Mendoza (NOFA) Best defender Carmelo Tacusalme (NOFA) Best midfielder Francis Gustilo (Iloilo) Best striker Joshua Beloya (NOFA)
MVP : Aldrin Dolino (NOFA)

Why are Barotac football players the best when it comes to football? Simply because it’s in their culture

Chris Aguila – Florida Marlins outfielder (Filipino father). Jason Bartlett – Tampa Bay Rays shortstop. (Filipina mother) Geno Espineli – San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum – San Francisco Giants pitcher (Filipina mother, Rebecca Asis, is the daughter of Filipino immigrants)[78] Help the Giants to win the crown.... Shane Victorino, Philadelphia Phillies outfielder. Brandon Villafuerte – San Diego Padres pitcher
If this initial lineup plus the additional local breeds to play and train maybe we can have again the asian crown that we didnt get for the last 60 years.....
we dip from 20 to 23 because we didnt join the last asian prequalifying for the asian championship...and we lost to thailand in the last sea games....we are the powerhouse for the first 3 decades in asia and slowly fading away....and now thailand is knocking the door to grap the asean seat....this is only the low funding and favoritism in the selection...with the phenom of the azkals hope that baseball PHL will change to a better program....

first of all I am not against americans, but based on what i've read and seen that americans are the main reason we dont like football mainly because they eliminated football in our society and brought for us basketball. back to the topic : based on what ive seen in some forums they line us to brazilians in football cause of the same drive/desire for such sport. we are virtualy same cause our built/height is almost the same 5'8 and we are catholic ;D far before the likes of Leonidas da Silva , Pele , Zico , blah blah etc. too many brazilian legends ;D , we produced worldclass footballers of our own like Paulino , Teus , Amestoy etc.... who all played in spain. if we probably aint colonized by Americans, probably thousands of filipino footballers around the world. - Just My Opinion ;D maybe, but some article that I've read (sorry i can not find it anymore) why latin americans are kin on football especially brazil, it is because of their ancestry a mixture of mayan or south american indian blood to a spanish / dutch blood that makes them a good footballer because of the bodies center gravity that is well suited for the south americans to play football, this is for the body to maneuver while handling the ball on ease...and aside from that a 100 years of training and passion for the sport that make them a football powerhouse.... And if the americans didnt came....i think philippines is the land full of dumb, idiot and stupid people. Without the americans (thomasites) we were never educated.....there will be F Marcos, B Aquino, L salonga etc.....though im not a Pro american but still we owe them our education....there good and bad thing happen during the american era...and one of it the lost of passion of football....

what do you mean that all the provinces will send prepresentative players to a league on manila? if yes, im not a fan of a manila base league... it kind a strange your referring a top league in europe which they have a city of their own and then you proposed to be base on manila.....in order to improve the football spread it out Manila doesnt own anything around the phl....too much centralized in manila is not good for me..... please correct me if im wrong with my understanding....... Yes I already outlined this in Filipino football in December which resulted in a thread that was very long. The national league would not just be based in Manila but nationwide with cities sponsoring teams by helping them build stadiums. This is just like the MBA model that threatened the supremacy of the PBA at one time. I think with this concept, you could easily fill up stadiums and fans will travel to watch their teams play in other cities. Manila based teams can fill up their stadiums not only based on their fans but also on the Manila based regional support that is inherent in the NCR. now we are on the same page........and i like the defunct MBA before i like the rivalries....especially cebu and negros....

even in the MBA days, whenever Cebu Gems plays the Manila MetroStars in their homecourt(i think it was Ultra), it feels like a homecourt to the Cebu Gems. Lots of Cebu Gems fans attend their games. Exactly. If we can set up the Philippine Premier League in this format, we wouldn't have to worry about filling up stadiums like the UFL does today. The names of the teams should be based on cities and tradition and not just on companies. The companies by sponsoring teams should be able to place their names on signage, jersies, and even future stadiums. That is how football is set up elsewhere where they are profitable and not on the commercial league model that the PBA and UFL represents. As Vimjonk cited above Manila teams who don't have a following yet can still fill up their stadiums with away fans who are based in Metro Manila which you cannot get with the commercial model. sorry men my bad...dont answer my previous question now we are on the same page...

LOL ;D syota mo si Paul Weiler? Ang alam ko may GF siyang pinay na taga Visayas. ano ba naitulong ni Paul Weiler sa Cebu Football? Tanungin mo CFA at FC Inter Cebu na Paul Weiler claimed he was a founding member and business representative Umangat na nga di ba tinalo namin kayo ng 6-1 sa Under-13? Now tingnan natin if kaya na namin ang Under-23 ninyo. hindi lang ata ngayon naging maganda ang resulta ng cebu..nung 2007 nga sila pa nga nanalo sa u-15 sa pof festival at palaro champion sa elementary..let just wait and see the result of u-23..of course my bet is on iloilo...manalo man o matalo... ;D yes indeed football in cebu is getting stronger....im excited for the under 23....my bet is NOFA.....win or loose...and kung sinu man manalo sa visayas leg sana sila din magkikita sa finals...hehehe go visayas...

I noticed the natural rivalries between cities and regions in this thread. We should really take advantage of this by setting up a truly national professional premier league that can take advantage of this rivalries to promote the sport in our country and that we can pattern on what we see in Spain(Real Madrid and Barcelona) and England(Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea). Manila because of its larger population base can have several teams and because all regions are represented in Manila will give this regions a natural away fan base in the capital. what do you mean that all the provinces will send prepresentative players to a league on manila? if yes, im not a fan of a manila base league... it kind a strange your referring a top league in europe which they have a city of their own and then you proposed to be base on manila.....in order to improve the football spread it out Manila doesnt own anything around the phl....too much centralized in manila is not good for me..... please correct me if im wrong with my understanding.......

uu ibang schools may football field nga wla naman sa curriculum at program sa school. yung spanish school lng meron like ateneo, lasalle, san agustin, and international schools it is good for that school dahil matinu ang training program at may perang panggasto...but some schools private or public sa negros occ though may football but walang budget for a trainor kaya nagrely sa pasahan ng skills between the batch. but off course not like the la salle, uno-r, and wnu meron silang matinong program...
