Well, I know Spain are favorites, but Japan's incredibly underrated since Zaccheroni. They've been a top 10 to top 20 team since Okada went out. They defend the tiki-taka the correct way.

MATCH RESULT:2012 London Olympics: FootballESP U-23 0 - J PN U-23 1Goal Scorer: 34' Y. Otsu Red Card: Íñigo Martínez 42' JPN make an upset by beating to favorite Spain. The 1 goal by Otsu is enough to upset them. Japan had a lot of missed chances. Could have been 3 or 4 nil with a bit of luck.

Spain's hopes of adding the Olympic Gold to the World and Euro cups ended by being knocked out of the tournament by Honduras. Bad luck for them
and Japan's thru to the QF.

They have been simply that good... but I hope they both lose. BTW, the ref at the Brazil - Honduras was awful, AWFUL.

Also helped by the fact that GB are overrated much like the English team (sorry again British and English fans). Also, I cringed at the broken arm >_< I'm smelling a Brazil-Japan final. Brazil haven't impressed me at all though. Their defense is really bad.... If Jung Sung-Ryong plays, dunno if Korea will have the defense to stop the hailstorm that is Brazil and Neymar/Damiao (Korea's main keeper isn't very good compared to the benchies on the NT...). I have the confidence to say that Korea has a good chance to beat them though. Mexico was roflstomped by Korea, only to be saved by Korea's amazing fluffing in front of goal which has been happening all tournament long, so I think Japan will win easily for the Finals.

Mexico - Japan will be just as even as Mexico - Senegal... South Korea's team looks fatigued lately, I still think they will give Brazil lots of trouble.
By the way, we already played Japan before the olympics began, and while they won with a stunning goal, they weren't that great, they have speedy technical players, but their midfield and pressure is not even close to that of South Korea.

Didn't know we played them. It's good to see us play well vs. Japan. I still think you're heavily underrating Japan's team and overrating Mexico's from what I've seen with their games in the Olympics though. Mexico aren't very good at all, but then again, I'm American, so not liking Mexico's kinda a given <_<

By we I mean Mexico... Mexico problem's that we are pretty inconsistent and our coach likes to play defensive all the time, if you saw the matches, when we wanted we dominated our rivals (except South Korea I must say, but we had as many goal chances as them anyways). I know how good Japan is, in fact I really like and rate Sakai (since the past Club World Cup, he was really good against Monterrey), but they don't impress me at all.

Congrats Mexico! Although I wanted Japan to win, the better team won today obviously. MotM was Fabian to me followed by Enriquez and Salcido. Dunno how you guys rate Fabian, but he's always struck me as an underachieving quality player ever since he pwned Barcelona with his two golazos last year. Then again, this tourney was the first time I've seen him play at the world stage. Japan were obviously dominating the match the 1st 25 minutes, but their cohesiveness died with their 4-4-2 today. They had a 4-2-3-1 shape all tourney, too, but Mexico was too good.

Japan is a great team, pretty tactically disciplined and their players are really fast, their major flaw is that they're too predictable going foward.
This Mexico under Tena is doing like in the Pan Ams, the Qualifier and the Toulon tourny... from less to more.
Fabián is inconsistent, in Toulon he was on fire, he has the potencial to be better, but he's playing wide this tourny instead of a more central role.
By the way, Brazil is already up 1-nil in about to the half time, it looks like an All Latin American final and and All East Asian bronze.
Edit: @84' Brazil 3 - 0 South Korea.
Brazil - Mexico will be the final.

Americas 2 - 0 Asia
Korea got shafted hard by the ref 2x (red card + PK and another PK), but they should really finish off those chances instead of fluff like they've been doing all tournament, including this game. Brazil were destined for the finals anyway lololol. I didn't think Korea could do worse than Jung Sung Ryong, but the backup was a bit worse than he was..... I actually thought Ki Sung Yueng was the best on the field today (followed by Koo Ja Cheol), but I guess the MotM should go to Damiao as he did score two good goals or Neymar since he did trouble Korea towards the end of the game.
