Admin,
Has Gino Pavone arrived in the Philippines yet? It looks like he arrived too late to be included in the Long Teng Cup roster. He was there last year but there is more competition this year so it looks like he didn't make the cut. Is he trying out for any of the UFL teams?

I saw him at the Kaya vs Global ICanServe Invitational match. He suited up for Global, but didn't play too long, he seemed bigger than pics from early this year. Although I was watching him, he didn't seem particularly exceptional when compared to our local, Barbaso or his teamate Basa.

Thanks Wiking. Looks like he didn't make the cut. The Fil Ams are slowly losing out to our Fil Euros who have professional experience in Europe.

they both had an injury, van bossche had a muscle strain in his quadriceps and only could go all out since end of last week, verheye is coming back after a shoulderoperation this summer . fysicaly they have to work to be back on their normal level, it's only a mather of training and getting play time . if i am informed correctly they are staying and could be included in the U23 roster . as they are of the same level as the other fil-belgian christiaens i guess it's only a mather of time before they will be in action .

I consider Jeffrey's level a little bit higher than Angelo's and Jacques'. Don't get me wrong, they're all very good players, but Jeffrey has first team experience. Nevertheless, I see the three Filipino-Belgians as a very good addition to the squad, and they'll become important players for the Azkals if they can remain at their current clubs and play every week with the first team in the (near) future.

Thank you gentlemen for the info. I thought they went back home, if they did they probably won't play with their teams yet anyway, might as well recuperate in a warmer climate. I do hope they play in the U23, I would love to see what they could do. And, Gerardo you are right, they should go back to their clubs after, to continue to learn there and make them better and to develop their skills more. Thanks for the info again!

Anton del Rosario is also missing. It's time to test the new players in order for the level of Azkals playing to improve.

Having found the whereabouts of Jason de Jong, here is his upcoming game schedules for FC Dordrecht's youth team:
Sept 26; Oct 03; Oct 17
He will have to miss the Oct 03 schedule if he wants to be in the LTC. Seeing that he was just activated on Sept 19th, will his team let him go? Will he want to go?
The other issue is for the SEAG, although he only has 2 scheduled games in December. It's on the 5th and 12th.
I suppose we will find out eventually.

Can I speculate now the formation of the starting XI? 'Cause this hybrid senior/U-23 team will be exciting! I project they will be more defensive on HKG (parking the bus?), more attacking and focus on wings against TPE, and well, just play good football against MAC. I speculate in the starting XI against HKG that Aly and James YH will be part of the center defense, Lexton and Carli as LB and RB respectively. If De Jong should play, he can be defensive mid beside Matthew Hartmann. Chieffy and Roel Gener can man the attacking side. Either Phil YH or Mark Hartmann can front the team. I'm OK with Sacapano, but we can always give way for Mueller to have his debut for the NT. Araneta and Bahadoran can be part of the lineup against Taipei and Macau. I wasn't happy on Araneta's performance against HKG. He either goes wide against their taller mids or gets too deep on the defense. The Belgians can take the mids on the weaker teams or be as subs. Poetschke can sub James YH if ever he's sent off. Although I fear that if the defense goes too deep at the HKG match, it would either give way for the higher-stamina defensive mids to deflect passing attempts or make free space for their strikers to make attempts on goals. On Taipei, make sure they would keep away from too much long balls, the Taiwanese seem to see the long balls as opportunities for their intelligent wings to possess the ball. Macau's strong spot seems to be their outside backs. If they will park the bus against our team, Chieffy and Mark Hartmann should be forewarned that they must not lose focus. Either way, I am really happy with this very strong combination of players. On to the victory! Go Azkals! Sir what about Angel? is he playng in Long Teng Cup? If he plays, why he isn't included in the starting XI?

Angel's still nursing his injuries from the WC qualifiers but he's in the lineup from the above link (#14 on the list). It's possible that he won't start but he'll be there if they need him.
It's a very "Weiss" starting 11, quite attack-oriented. He's putting some caps on a new defense line too (except Aly), which is a good thing. Good move in bringing in players from the U-23 squad to get some experience in them. Now FIFA rank should be at play in all games in the LT Cup.
With this "new" Azkals team, I'm getting pretty excited as the Cup gets closer and closer! Any news on TV coverage?

Caz, TV coverage courtesy of stellarboy, back read you'll find it. Yup saw him on the list, I'm the one that hot linked it here Still I need to ask, is he match fit? Weiss doesn't like to substitute so... Did you see the Global vs Azkal a few days ago? We've got some great looking local defenders! I like #17, Leonora, watch him, very very fast and scrappy.
