mueller, oliver P and Carli stepped up. i like how they play. but im a little disappointed with the lack of cohesion on offense.

Is this another Weiss idiosyncrasy that he hates to make substitutions? I hate to admit, but I'm afraid that the things Vimjonk are venting out against the Weiss.... are legitimate. 1.) He only trust few players, not the whole team. 2.) He really too much on few players to too some much notably Angel Guirado. @caz - you mentioned that Guirado should go back to Spain to relearn his attacking instinct. IMHO, it's not necessary actually. The problem I see is that Guirado is playing both attacking and defensive mid when he's supposed to be our big, tall striker whose purposesly built to "low-post" along the of the opponent's defensive line, beat the offside trap and tank his way inside the penalty box. He should be our Pinoy version of Germany's Mario Gomes or, in a more realistic comparison, similar to Singapore's old but tall Aleksandr Duric. And since football is the epitome of how a team sport is played, the mistake of one will take a toll on the rest of the team. Hence, Phil Younghusband's seemingly lackluster performance. It's just everyone is relying on him to make golden opportunities when in fact the oppponent is not stupid to let him go unmarked to shut him down (usually with more than one pa nga eh). 3.) As a collective result of #1 and #2, therefore he can't make decisive substitution. Heck! he barely uses the 3 precious substitution at all.

wasn't able to watch the match, reading the post looks like Coach Wiess has to go... I read before that German Football sent a former German youth Coach to be the consultant of our U23 team... but I guess its up to PFF to tell the German Football that they want a new coach... if it is that easy... So, after the draw the standings now is.... Hongkong 4 pts. 1 win and 1 draw + 4 goal dif. Taiwan 4 pts. 1 win and 1 draw + 3 goal diff. PHL 2 pts. 2 draws 0 goal diff. Macau 0 pt. -7 goal diff. A Hongkong vs. Taiwan to draw and a 5 goals win by PHL vs. Macau will win us the Long Teng Cup trophy... I have to wait for Wiking's analysis to get a better feel of how the game went... unless someone recorded it and uploaded it on youtube or somewhere...

i really hope that dan palami notice every thing today.there isnt any excuse for weiss didnt use his whole bench.as slayer said weiss didnt trust his whole bench.misagh and the rest of the team has the potential to bring the spark for the team, but hell weiss didnt use them at all.he has a better roaster than the last long teng cup.

That scenario actually happened last year with HK and CT drawing and we beat Macau by 5 goals with Araneta scoring a Hat trick of Headers...

The way Weiss is coaching could cause dissent in some very able, highly skilled players on the bench.. Weiss got to go..

That scenario actually happened last year with HK and CT drawing and we beat Macau by 5 goals with Araneta scoring a Hat trick of Headers... but that was when we were still whipping boys. situations have change. I'm led to believe that either Hongkong and Taiwan will just just have a goal-fest with each other just to ensure they'll have a huge goal margin against us , then just tie the game (let's say 5:5, 6:6, etc... speaking of "lutong-Macau" ). They rather have either one of them become the champion instead of fight it out on standstill and give us a chance to win by goal difference if ever we pawn Macau. As long the Long Term este Teng champion is a Chinese nation... yeah LTC 2011 apparently became a 3 nation vs 1 turney.

my view: ct was playing for the draw all the way. their players were delaying at every oppy - throw ins, the keeper not grabbing the ball from the ground until challenged, the ct players rolling around on the ground after barely being touched, what utter garbage. interesting tho - ct seems to fancy their chances are better against hk than the azkals! a sign of respect?
A few other observations -
1) at this stage, angel can only go about 60-70 min tops. get him off before he gets hurt. he has lost weight so he is working on his fitness, but sorry he just isn't there yet
2) pyh is not an accurate striker. i think this may be why he did not make it to the big time. in all of the last few games we have seen his zooming sky balls flying over the cross bar. unfortunately i think much of this is because he just doesn't have enough help around him. without others up there deep with him, there may be a few too many awkward shots...
3) Chieffy continues to impress... solid and creative.
4) defense much much better this game
5) thought moy looked good, as well as leonora. would like to see more of misagh,
6) We definitely needed fresh legs out there at the end, why didn't weiss bring em out??? it was clear the game had gone flat by about the 70 or 75 min mark.
overall a good performance but i'm afraid we will only get second or third best this time around. shame, i thought we should have beaten ct soundly.

Guys no long article right now, I'm pissed off, but... We had SIX(6), yes six subs that could have been used IF the rule was the same like last year. See jonny's blog he has one from last year. Although I still support the coach, it is unacceptable not to relieve a player who is obviously having a bad day!! Especially if you've got freakin&^$^%$ SIX available subs!! Coach why bring 20 players if you don't trust the 14-20th player &^(%$%#&&!!! Real quick, if you're able to watch a replay watch these guys: Best back line performance: Aly's back baby!! Best newby performance: Neckson Leonora. Best mid: JamesYh Man of the match: Roland "the Rock" Mueller Most missed: Chieffy and Phil's old self Most needed to be "sat down" player: Ian and Phil These are just my opinion, I am no expert, but if you can watch a replay watch the guys I mentioned please, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Can someone explain to me how Taiwan displayed a better possession game than us. Their coach was hired fairly recently compared to Coach Weiss. For a so called offensive coach, I don't think Coach Weiss has improved our possession game in his time with the team. Its very frustrating! Good coaches will be able to maximize players potential!
