saw the highlights of the game (courtesy of benchzt) and i say poor markings on the defense. I'm sure it will improve with the full line-up.
On the first Bahrain goal, looks like Weiss is experimenting De jong at CB and he was too high when came to play leaving Anton the right defense.
On the 2nd goal, poor marking on Roel gener.

didn't know chiefy has that long shot....the goals are defensive lapses which can still be worked out ...we'll see what adjustments they would make in the next match

on the second goal, it looked like del rosario was just off on the offside trap.

Defensive lapses led to the two goals. The regular back 4 isn't complete, after all. And I think Jason de Jong is not used to being a DF so he did not know what to do when Anton was defending against that striker. If he's gonna replace Aly during the first match, he has to get used to his position first.
I saw on twitter that Sacapano did good as keeper. But based on the two goals, I still think that Neil would have done better. In fact, I think Neil would have been able to prevent the two goals.
All things considered, I think the Azkals did ok.

IMO that first goal looked really bad.. I think the GK could've handled that shot.. Or is it the point of view of the camera that it seems misleading?

I think Ed could/should have done better on the first goal. He should not have been beaten at the first post when he was in position for it. Top line goalkeepers have extremely strong wrists to be able to push away that sort of shot. Good to see Chieffy taking up the responsibility and believing in himself to rifle in a shot like that instead of trying to dribble it into the 6 yard box to score. The winning goal revealed the lack of experience of an inexperienced defence trying to play offside just outside the penalty area. WHY would they want to? That is lazy defending by a defence who should not have the off-side trap in their vocabulary or their game plan. It was poorly executed and the team was rightly punished for it. Apart from the poor execution of the trap the defence on our left was plain ball watching and had no idea where the attacker was and the angle he was running to get into the position to score. As a defender it is difficult to do two things at once well. So next time stick to one thing (forget offside trap) and concentrate on filling the space and forcing the attacking team to shoot from distance. As we play higher ranked teams we have to minimise our defensive lapses coz we cant continue to give away early goals and chase the game. Let's hope that some good will come from the game and we tighten up the defence. Also we should remember that the players had had a very long flight to Bahrain and had virtually stepped off the plane and onto the field without the benefit of a reasonable recovery time after the flight.

Imagine most player who played that night in our team are subs , reserves and coming from our U23 as well like OJ , De Jong among others..
