very disappointing defense. we keep on conceding goals from bad marking and keep on playing the offside trap with no real communication. when it comes to using the offside trap they should be a unit. we need to focus on the defensive side or else it will be goals galore in kuwait. even though it was a bit of an experimental back 4 with del rosario playing as cb, we should still have done better. didnt see the whole game but from the clip ott is really playing well and making a mark on the on the first team. hopefully we can hold kuwaits bombs.

yung header score mali talaga ng mga defenders natin. hindi kasi tumalon at chinallenge yung ball eh. hays. for those who are not familiar with who number 19 nestor margarse jr. is, siya yung nasa left ng pic na to.

Bahrain 3 - AZKALS-1! Jesus Christ! pero, wala lang yan! Kung nandyan ang ating mga regular power players natin (Mulders, Lucena, Etheridge and Shroeck) the score will be not be like this buti na lang nka-score tayo si Chieffy pa!

the sucks in applying the offside trap, they lack communications, the 1st and the 3rd goals can be avoided if the defensive line were more compact......and the 2nd goal, they just allowed those two Bharainis jump,

If they dont communicate well, forget about the trap, just close the gaps instead.

okay lang naman po. nag ask lang din naman me. it just means weiss wanted the guys to take the training seriously. he was satisfied with a 2-1 loss sa game 1 against bahrain. the time he threw that tubig was nung naging 3-1 na ang score.gusto niya if matalo man at least tulad ng dati na 1 lang ang lamang ng kalaban.
ibang level lang talaga ng laro kapag ang the best starting 11 ang naglaro kesa sa mga subs. sana dumating reinforcements natin pag kuwait na kalaban. please lord please po.

At Kuwait, at least we'll have a semi-complete back 4 with Anton, Gier, and Jonsson. That back-4 will be way better than the ones that played in Bahrain. The only problem is that Gier, Jonsson, Etheridge, and others will not be as acclimatised.
There are no videos where the attacks of the Azkals are shown, but I assume that the Azkals attack is still good.

That's AT LEAST, padre. If we pray hard enough, the stars could align, and our 'suntok sa buwan' would reap results. Konting dasal pa tayo and something really good will happen. Sorry kung medyo cryptic. Pero dasal lang.

It'll be very difficult to gauge how we measure up against Kuwait based on the Bahrain friendlies. First we didn't have a complete lineup, but by the looks of things aside from Ray, Rob and Neil this is probably it. Next, more than the scores I wish we saw the entire matches in order to see how the team played. Did we play defensively like we will in Kuwait? How much possession did we keep? Did we have our backs against the wall for most of the match?
We can't just look at the scores and the few highlights of goals that we saw, that's not how football works. I hope someone could really fill us in on how the matches went.

Bahrain eyes Azkals for four-nation tournament, training camps
By Cedelf P. Tupas Philippine Daily Inquirer
MANAMA—Impressed by the huge turnout in the friendly pitting the Philippines and its Under-23 Olympic team, the Bahrain Football Association (BFA) is eyeing a bigger partnership with the Azkals, including more training camps here and the possible staging of a four-nation tournament. About 10,000 people, most of them overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) here, turned up in the first of the two Bahrain-Philippines friendly matches that ended with Bahrain winning, 2-1, at the National Stadium in Riffa Saturday night. “The Philippine team is always welcome here,” BFA technical affairs head Hassan Ismael told the Philippine Daily Inquirer Sunday night during a dinner tendered by the football association. “We saw the loyalty of Filipinos to their team and it’s a quality that people in Bahrain share with them.” The Azkals are scheduled to play the Bahrain Under-23 team again Monday night in the friendly matches sponsored by AMA International University and Dr. Amable Aguiluz. The Azkals are gearing up for their second-round World Cup qualifying duel against Middle East powerhouse Kuwait on July 23 and 28. Ismael said they could help stage a four-nation tournament featuring neighboring Gulf nations like Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates and the Azkals in 2012. The Bahrain squad came within a win of reaching the 2010 World Cup. Lead organizer Edith Fuentes of Creator Marketing and Consultancy said the match marked one of the biggest gatherings of Filipinos here. Bahrain is home to 46,000 OFWs. Azkals manager Dan Palami welcomed the partnership. “A closer cooperation with the Bahrain Football Association will be very beneficial to the Philippines … considering the level and quality of football here,” Palami said.
Man, it seems that the Middle East loves the Philippines. Smart Gilas has already participated in several tournaments over there and has greatly benefited from it. Think of how great this will be for the Azkals!

From the games I've seen though, Neil is the heart of our defense. I've watched this sport for a long time, and Sacapaño probably should've stopped most of those. Then again, it's also partly the defense that were at fault, too.
