Bleachers brew is now saying that Rob Gier is not coming although all other media sources says he is. Hope this is not true. Our defence is very vulnerable without him.

Updated Lineup for Myanmar group matches: From Mongolia trip: Sacapano Del Rosario Borromeo Sabio Gener James Younghusband Caligdong Jonsson Araneta Simon Greatwich Barsales Ferrer Camcam Margarse
New additions :
Etheridge Aldeguer Espinosa Guerridon Hinrichsen Yannick Tuason Ricardo Becite and/or David Basa Jerry Lucena Gier (Not confirmed)
It is a good lineup. If we can't make the top 2 in the group from this lineup, I will be very disappointed. The key here is the presence or absence of Gier. Without him, our defence is very vulnerable. I don't really have much confidence in Sabio as a centerback.

I agree with cjeagle, if i were to choose I'll put Sabio in the defensive midfielder instead of a defender. I felt he was very uncomfortable on his position during the 2nd Leg. Maybe the stress from the flights... MAYBE

On Friday 18th March 2011, @tjmanotoc said: more bad news is that live updates from anyone in Myanmar via twitter or FB r close to impossible. Internet hard to come by & Govt blocks all social networking so we might be getting earliest update when reporters like Dyan get back to the hotel and do a phone report. we are not sure yet if they will allow tourists to use cellphones as well. @vincerodriguez: Myanmar will provide footage of the game on Tuesday, so studio 23 will likely air the RP vs Myanmar match on Wednesday. ---not-so-good news

Burma (Myanmar) Country Specific Information Computers, Internet, and Email: The military regime carefully controls and monitors all Internet use in Burma and restricts Internet access through software-based censorship that limits the materials individuals can access online. The government has allowed cyber cafes to open, but access to the Internet is very expensive, and access to most “free” international e-mail services such as Hotmail and Yahoo is prohibited. Currently, Gmail (Google mail) accounts can be accessed in Burma, and many locals and resident expatriates use it. It is illegal to own an unregistered modem in Burma. You may bring one laptop computer into Burma but must declare it upon arrival. Limited email service is available at some large hotels. All emails are subject to monitoring by Burmese security services. It is very expensive to send photographs via email. One foreign visitor was presented a bill for $2,000 after transmitting one photograph via a major hotel's e-mail system. During September and October 2007, the military government disconnected all internet access across the country for extended periods of time. source: travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1077.html---so it's super delayed telecast

Be careful Azkals in Myanmar especially against the home team.

What we can imply from this is that we cannot bring our cameras to document like what we did in Panaad.
What we can hope is that the Burmese have their feed broadcast live (like what you saw in Mongolia, bad camera angles and all).
What matters is that the game is shown live.

inquirer.net/sports/articles/Lucena-Gier-boost-Azkals-in-Rangoon.htmlLooks like we will only have Rob Gier for the first 2 games and Jerry Lucena for the last 2 games in Myanmar. We will be vulnerable without Gier at centerback in the third game but by then hopefully we have qualified. Also the PFF has appealed to the Indonesian federation to have De Jong released. Will see what happens.
