A Kaya FC staff member has told our Twitter page that the team will travel to Koronadal City (also known as Marbel) on Tuesday, January 8 for their match against M'lang FC at the PFF-Smart Club Championship. They will fly first to General Santos City before travelling to Koronadal by land.
The PFF have sought the assistance of the local government there to provide ample security for the players, especially the foreigners and the national team players, as the area around the city is a hotspot for rebel insurgents. A security envoy provided by PNP Region XII will precede the Kaya convoy while they travel to Koronadal. The local organisers had assigned a certain inn/lodging house for the team to stay, and its location is relatively safe at least. However, security will be tight at this time and access to the location will be restricted, according to what I've been informed.
A press conference will be held a few hours after the team arrives in the city. I have heard that there may also be a mini fan event organised by the Ultras Kaya after the match on the 9th, pending approval and availability of its members and the players. The team will return to Manila on the 10th.
We wish the team a safe travel, and good luck with your match!

maglalaro nang football bwis buhay pa.hayzzz 'Wag ka ngang OA d'yan. ;D This is not like Maguindanao or Basilan where there is really an uncertainty for one's safety. Koronadal is relatively safe and peaceful based on my experience travelling there. However, compared to my hometown Davao, police visibility in the outskirts of the city is still quite questionable especially in Muslim settlements and rural areas. Petty crimes like theft and robbery are rampant in those areas, pero naagapan naman ng mga pulis. If the team visiting was one of the AFP clubs, security won't be this tight. But this is Kaya FC, a team with players from abroad, not to mention a few of them play for the Azkals. Mainit sa mata ng mga masasamang loob doon ang mga foreigners at mga "celebrities", at least based on the latest reports. So they aren't complacent. What I will also expect on that day, though, are fan-girls, not just from Cotabato, but also neighboring areas like Davao and Sarangani, dahil expect nila andun sina Aly at Anton! Should be fun! hahaha ;D
