coach ernie of stallion is hinting that one local based player will be playing with them soon and we will be part of clear dream match. i'm betting on marwin angeles for this.
EDIT: i just checked the stallion facebook group and coach ernie clarified it's not from global. maybe the twins will be back at Laos FC since this is global's sister team.

I am a little surprised that the Angeles twins were released, since they are not subject to the quota of foreigners per club. Hopefully the players released will still have time to hook up with another UFL team during the current transfer window. I guess they made that decision to make way for daisuke and curt.

Global FC fielded (7) 23&under players in their starting lineup vs Army; 8 when Mark Hartmann came in as sub. Leigh Manson being the coach of U23 Azkals as well, this seems to be the closest set-up similar to that of Harimau Muda joining leagues as a club.
Of course they rested some of their regular starters (Bahadoran, Kama, Sadia, etc.) & the commentators also mentioned Guirado's back at the club.

Global Football Club is pleased to announce four new signings in the bid to reclaim the United Football League title this season. The four new signings of the club are Curt Dizon, Daisuke Sato, Raul Martinez and German Rodriguez. Global FC Chief Executive Dan Palami has hailed the four new signings as the club goes for a second league title. "Global Football Club is synonymous with success," said Palami. "The four players will have an important role in the club as the season progresses. With their caliber, we hope that Global FC will continue playing beautiful football." Global Coach Leigh Manson is eager to have the new signings adapt to the high level of football that Global is known for. "I'm happy with the new players in the lineup," said Manson. "The players themselves show that they are ready to take on the challenge and play a high level of football the fans will love." Curt Dizon, the 20-year-old midfielder, was signed from Union Internacional Manila. Dizon also played for Crystal Palace FC Under-16 squad and was an part of the Nike Chance football camp. The midfielder is also part of the Philippine national training pool under Coach Thomas Dooley. Daisuke Sato is a 19-year-old midfielder that was born in Davao City to a Filipina mother and a Japanese father. Sato was part of the youth team of J-League side Urawa Red Diamonds. Raul Martinez is a 26-year-old midfielder from Hidalgo, Mexico. The midfielder had spells in C.F. Pachuca and Lobos de la BUAP of Mexico's second division. The midfielder was also called up to the Mexico Under-23 squad in 2007 with 5 international appearances. Completing the squad is German Rodriguez. Rodriguez is a 25-year-old defender, from Cruz Azul in the Mexican premier division. www.globalfc.ph/news/four-new-names-bolster-global-fccare to comment on the mexican signings mrpmoshI have no idea who they are, but seeing that none of them were up to Ascenso MX I don't expect a lot from them. German: Raúl: They should be over most of the guys in the league when it comes to the technical side (specially cuz they're products of two really good sides, Cruz Azul & Pachuca), but it they didn't make it in the 2nd tier here or they're not "fast thinking" enough or they lack the physical side.

Yeah Cruz Azul and Pachuca are good teams mrpmosh. I think they have both won multiple CONCACAF club championships. The players they have developed tend to be very good technical players, although physically they might not be up to par. With all the new players, Global FC seems to have cranked it up a notch: Merciless Global FC routs Army, keeps in step with leader Loyola March 13, 2014, 10:42 pm A RETOOLED Global FC unleashed its offensive wrath on Philippine Army with a 9-1 pummeling to keep within striking distance of the lead in the United Football League on Thursday night at the Emperador Stadium in Mckinley Hill. Mark Hartmann, Izzo El-Habib, and Jason de Jong all fired a brace, while Jeffrey Christiaens, Charlie Pettys, and new recruit Napoleon Bustilo added a goal each for the second-running side, which once again breathed down the neck of Loyola as the Sparks are now just one point clear on top. The powerhouse squad, which saw several changes—five key additions and three subtractions—in its roster, also kept the Korean-reinforced Troopers in fourth spot. “Global is a different animal now,” head coach Leigh Manson said. “I feel we’re stronger and that we’re getting stronger as we get to know each other.” The result mirrored the score line in their first-round encounter as Global built a three-goal cushion in the first half this time, before even turning to a higher gear after the restart. After making upgrades in key positions with German Rodriguez at the back, Raul Martinez in the middle, Curt Dizon on the right wing, Daisuke Sato on the left wing, and Bustilo on top, Global flashed a sleek passing game to the delight of the fans. After El-Habib opened the floodgates with two quality goals and Christaiens struck from the penalty area, Global turned it up a notch in the second half, where the squad scored six of its output, including three in a span of just four minutes (64', 66', 67'). “There was a moment where we were absolutely unstoppable,” Manson said. “We were playing at a level that I hope we can attain more often because that’s what we strive for.” Now wearing the captain’s armband with the departure of Ben Starosta and given the freedom to play higher and behind the strikers, De Jong repaid his coach’s faith by scoring Global’s first goal in the second half in the 55th minute. Hartmann, despite coming off the bench, still scored twice to solidify his stature as the league’s leading scorer with 14 goals in all. www.spin.ph/sports/football/news/merciless-global-fc-routs-army-keeps-in-step-with-leader-loyola

Well, for this league they should be a good upgrade, but they shouldn't make a bigger impact than a 2a "B" or 3a division player from Spain.

Angel Guirado, who has never been dropped by the club, is back in town. “Angel is on trial,” clarified coach Manson. He added, however: “Global is a different animal now, we're not going to go on past reputation here. They're going to come in on ability.” Guirado is on a 10-day trial. gmanetwork.com

I hope this will be a trend on other clubs as well.

Marvin and Marwin Angeles were still training with the national team yesterday in Ateneo. It looks like they'll be here to stay. the question is, which club would get them?
