Source : Bangladesh FA website Philippines matches : 21 May vs Iran 23 May vs Thailand 25 May vs Bangladesh by jonny on filipinofootball.blogspot.com/2013/01/afc-womens-asian-cup-qualifiers-in.html
The top team in the 4 groups will be qualified to the final stage together with Australia, Japan, South Korea and China next year. North Korea is banned due to doping case in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup.
If the Philippines pass the group stage, then we'll rename this thread to use this for 2014 AFC Women's Asian Cup final stages. GO MALDITAS! (edited for clarity --stellarboy)

Ashley O'Connor's name is missing. I know she had an injury. I suppose she hasn't recovered. I did a google search for Jenny Hammond. She has played pro soccer in the USA and appears extremely dedicated. Her claim to citizenship is through her grandmother. The Philippines consulates in the USA are going to be busy processing passport applications. A lot of the girls will be busy with exams. I hope they have enough time to get things done!

Exciting! The coach also assured those who aren't in the AFC Qualifiers lineup that they may be called up for future tournaments, including the AFF, SEA, and even the AFC Finals tournaments. It's amazing what a deep pool Philippine Women's Football has! Things are looking bright! That being said, it must have been tough to whittle down that list of players to "just" 50.

Has the team been picked? Getting 15 players from North America to Manila by May 1 will be difficult and expensive to arrange on short notice.

Short notice? What are you talking about? This process has been in place since after the March camp. For all we know the 15 players have been selected, just no formal announcement has been made yet.

Mark, There were 50 players on the last list. I don't know how many were from North America. We were told the team would be picked on April 20. That gives 15 North Americans 10 days to reorganize their lives, quit their jobs, cancel summer school, arrange for their mail, pay their bills, arrange for their plants or pets, pack for a month, and get a plane ticket. For most people that would be short notice. And yes, it is more difficult and expensive to get a flight with 10 days notice. I am not trying to criticize but everybody who has ever tried to book a flight to Philippines on short notice because of a funeral or family illness knows that it can be difficult and expensive. Unless they have known for some time that they were on the team for sure, I expect players will not all be arriving by May 1.

Let's just wait and see what happens. Let's not make assumption.

The list is due out today. Good luck to all those hoping to make the team. You really could make history for Philippines football. P.S. When you are packing remember that most American electrical devices won't work in the Philippines.
