The team plays DLSU again on Wednesday, same time, same place....I guess we'll see if the girls learned anything from that defeat.

I don't think it is fair to use this game against DLSU men's team, as a gauge on how the national women's team, will do in the AFC women's cup. It is like comparing apples to oranges. It is just a totally different game. DLSU men's team is probably not even playing their usual game, limiting their tackles and physical play. Anyone who has played coed soccer knows this. There is a big gap in quality between the men's and women's game in soccer. It is good that that they get to practice against quality opposition by playing up to the men's level, but they shouldn't expect and be disheartened if they can't keep up. They should just play their game and try to improve their cohesion as they go along.

Thank you to DLSU, Stallions, and others who have acted as the Malditas' "sparring partners". You are vital to their success.

To back cjeagle's post up, about a year ago India men's U-16 team had a training camp in America before AFC U-16 competition and there they had a practice match with US women's NT, the Spain NT of women's football, who were gearing up for London Olympic games. And the result? India U-16 won, 4-0. So yeah, the result doesn't matter. It's all about giving the girls a kind of 10-fold gravity training in Dragon Ball. Actually Japan women's NT also usually have practice matches with U-16 sides under J.League clubs before major competitions, and that for sure helps a lot.

They had a scrimmage against the futsal MNT Muzangs and won 6-5, (or it may have been the other way around). We know that the Iranian girls certainly would never be allowed to play against men. It's great the way mens' teams are pitching in to help the Malditas. Hopefully they can get some games in against strong women's teams if they make it through to the next round.

I also think Ernie likes the idea of the Malditas being a mystery.

Unfortunately, they're not only a mystery to the opponents but also to the country they are representing! Hopefully that will change soon.

it was 6-5 but the Muzangs had 2-3 Malditas in their team, Pimp even scored one for them. During the scrimmage with DLSU, coach was doing a lot of subbing and Jesse only played 15 mins tops. Dela Cruz was awesome at the goal post, stopping at least 5 attempts from DLSU.
The players I think are still adjusting to Coach Ernie's system but they'll get there in no time. They also played against Stallion this morning. It was 2-0 in favour of the men's team first half and this is with Jesse on top. Jesse is too fast, her support couldn't keep up with her speed and they couldn't convert. Everything changed after fielding Megan - Shelby - Ray to support the striker and at that time it was Cristina. Stallion just won by 1 goal FT. The team looked a lot better today, hopefully we'll see something solid against DLSU tomorrow.
