We, or should I say the PFF, is not at the level yet where a chartered flight to Uzbekistan is affordable. Remember our origins, folks. Azkals. Make do with the scraps available. And make the most of it. And win. Yes, it would be nice to have a plane all to themselves, but I hope we can show these guys what passion and determination from a lowly pedigree can do. Go Azkals! That's true, the PFF is not on a level to charter a flight for the team. However, the PFF, team management and sponsors might want to examine the possibility of chartering a plane and then offer to those fans willing to pay for a spot on the remaining available seats of the plane. That way some of the charter cost is defrayed by paying fans who get a direct flight to the away match venue and the team gets to bring a small contingent of supporters as well. Just a thought.

sports.inquirer.net/192482/azkals-set-vietnam-friendly-on-oct-3#ixzz3lHCWpmceThe Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is pulling out all the stops to make sure that the Azkals will be in top form for their two crucial away matches next month. A friendly against Vietnam on Oct. 3 at Rizal Memorial Stadium has been arranged before the trips to Pyongyang, North Korea, and Manama, Bahrain. It will mark the first time that the Azkals will meet the Vietnamese in a friendly. Their last three meetings have been in the AFF Suzuki Cup with the Azkals winning twice, including in 2010 when they pulled off the upset of the tournament against the then defending champion Vietnamese side. With the United Football League season already finished, the match gives the team, particularly the Manila-based players, an opportunity to sharpen up before the game against North Korea on Oct. 8 and Bahrain five days later. “We will prepare the team the best way we can,” said Azkals manager Dan Palami. “This is one of the most important stretch of games for us in the campaign.” The Azkals were slated to play Group H top seed Uzbekistan last night.

After that game with Uzbekistan I'm thinking that having a game in Panaad would be a good option. Chartered jet or not, the opposing team would feel that they're deep into the football heartland and where travel to and out of the place is not that accommodating. Advantage Azkals. Give the field a fresh makeover, put in the lights, and based on past games a World Cup Qualifier would draw crowds not seen in the Philippine Sports Stadium or Rizal.

After calling the new Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan as their home, the Philippine Azkals will return to the decades-old Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila for their next home assignment in the Fifa World Cup qualifiers on Nov. 12 against Yemen. “We have requested for a change in venue from the PSS to the RMS and it was approved by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), which is the body supervising the World Cup qualifiers in Asia,” Philippine Football Federation general-secretary Edwin Gastanes told The STAR. “We did this for the purpose of making it easier for football spectators to watch the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers home match,” he added. www.philstar.com/sports/2015/09/30/1505500/azkals-eye-old-rizal-next-home-match
