Watched the game. It was an ugly game considering that all the players from both sides were tired, after playing 3 games in less than a week. Needless to say this Suzuki Cup 2016 was an embarrassment for the Azkals, the PFF and the Philippines. Here's a summary of entire Suzuki Cup 2016 event.

Manny Ott played like sh*t, not just this game but last 2 as well. Losss possession and forces a lot passes and shots.

One big mistake it was. Ingreso was nowhere when the thais found that hole that led to the goal. My heart bleed for philippine football because this tournament showed the real status of football in the philippines at the moment. While the players and the staff are doing their best, we could not really blame them for losing in this tournament because of the lack of support from the people. Even the PFF could have done better.

No pointing of fingers at individuals please. The PFF as an organization has to do a better job of promoting this tournament.

There are a lot of things that need to be reassessed after this tournament and my thoughts:
1. Something's wrong with PH football. Are we going to go back to PH football's dark ages? I hope not anymore. PH football must be promoted nationwide. I hope PFL next year will help promote the game. 2. PFF failed to market and promote the tournament that resulted to low attendance. I think there should be changes in their marketing and promotions dept. (I miss the blue haired fan way back in 2011. I thinks he's the marketing dept chief back then. I don't know today.) 3. Is it too early to fire Coach Dooley whose contract was extended early this year for 2 years. For me, I think it would be better if we keep him. New coach means new strategies and techniques. (Start from scratch) 4. With this, move on with better preparation for Asian Cup Qualifiers Third Round. 5. For me, I think it will be better if they held the home games in the Visayas especially Cebu and Bacolod. 6. More friendlies for the next FIFA match days to maintain fitness and performance. 7. Don't blame the players and staff as they did their best for this but it wasn't enough.
Take this as an inspiration to do more and prepare for upcoming tournaments and hope this won't happen again. Truly it's a sad day for our country.

Casambre had a good game. If only Dooley held him on (despite his tiredness) for 10 mins. But then it's not for the team talaga. The Indons deserve their win.
Off-topic: I hope the SIN v INA game isn't the last football match to be held in RMS. Azkals should play one last friendly there.

Nope. Substituting Casambre in the midst of the game for Ingreso would be one big mistake. You were so accurate about this assessment. That Thai breakaway goal was heartbreaking.

A couple of takeaways from this entire tournament.
1) Nothing is/was stopping Thailand - Had the Azkals won, it would have been monumental. This is a side that just qualified for Round Three in WCQ. The first true ASEAN side to do so. They have not looked great in Round Three, but still leaps and bounds over everyone else
2) The UFL is not there yet - Did you see Dooley's lineup? All played in the UFL. Had this been 2010 with a UFL-only side, the Azkals would have been lucky not to lose 9-0. Remember Eddie Sacapano in goal? Yes, we got the European players. Yes, we got them to play in the UFL. 22 players do not make a league. The UFL has improved dramatically. However, it is not on par with the S-League, V-League and the TPL. You still need the European-based players to be competitive.
3) Encase Dooley in Lucite - Any thought of firing Dooley for this is asinine. This is a long process in building a sustainable National program. Klinnsmann is Michael Weiss with a better pedigree. What Dooley has done in the Phils is nothing short of miraculous. Unlike Weiss, who only cared about the Azkals, Dooley has been monumental in helping to build the UFL into some sort of competitive league. One that can send players up for years to come.
4)The PFF is nothing short of a disgrace - If Chuck Blazer, former CONCACAF General Secretary, was right about one thing, he said he was not looking for fans, but for businessmen. It is time to get the old warhorses out of the PFF, and replace them with Football-mad businessmen. Dan Palami can only do so much as the GM of the Azkals. Put him in charge of the whole system, and you will see results. The PFF marketing was worse than abysmal. It is almost like they wanted to fail. Put Palami in charge, period. You will see huge dividends in the PFF national program as a whole, rather than just the Azkals.

Dooley should've let Casambre finish the game. after a shaky start, he started to settle down. give him more minutes in a friendly game.
this was very disappointing but we can't blame anyone but ourselves. we were given a chance to host a prestigous event but we blew it (PFF). now let's get back to the drawing board. we'll see if we will continue with Dooley

i think the feud of ABS and iglesia is one to be blame naka kontrata ang Abs at azkals.switching the free tv in the last few days was like scramble egg buti kinuha parn nang tv5
its the location of the stadium ang lau for me i live near q ave it took me 1 hour to travel 30 minutes stuck in traffic aboni.kudos to sir dan palami and his crew maski papano nagtatawag tlga sila nang tao with names.problem is un location talga at sana namigay na sila nang ticket umpisa palang but o well short handed ren sila un chance na binigay sa knla sinayang ren nla and wala tau mawa basketball tlga uso dto d m nmn mapapalabas nang 200( 150 entrance 50 for bus) kng d tlaga fan.
ULTRA was amzing they where cheering the whole game may pause moments but the other section was shouting philipinas LOL with a basketball tone LOL wag na natin pahirapan sarle natn pwde un nlng un iisagaw sa susunod LOL
for me fck ABS better go with tv5 specially if its a national game magaling sila magpahype magaling ren sila manira nang hype.i personally hate abs dahil may personal na ginawa to sa fam mem ko.
btw how long is dooley coaching our boys?3 years na b LOL nalimutan k na e

Here's my 2 cents on what's next: Dooley's contract continues to the 2019 Asia Cup, He's responsible in getting there. His time is limited so he will not experiment on local homegrown players, as well as players without professional soccer playing experiences.
I believe he will also be responsible for the 2017 Asian Olympics. Since they have a lot of young players, the Azkals thinks that they have a chance to get a medal in the soccer event. There's really no need to change the coach at this point. Looking at the "Eligibles Section of this website", more than 90% of the prospects are foreign players with Filipino connections through their mothers (same mo, same mo). I believe this will be the strategy for quite sometime. The promotion of soccer as a sport in Manila will be the sole responsibility of the new PFL. If the PFL becomes similar to the UFL, just under a different name, then we will be back to square one.
